Well I just bought one. Chassis 105081, 22k kms which is a nice mileage, means I can use it without trashing the value. Can't wait to pick it up Here it is at the dealer with my F40 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dear Sir: Congratz, BUT: Did you do your homework? Please feel free to contact me privately via PM. Best regards Marcel Massini
Whoops! That doesn't sound good. With this sort of vintage, it's all about provenance, service and upkeep history, and ownership lineage. Marcel knows what's up. Hope it all works out @Hopfenholz.
Hi Marcel, I believe I did my homework, I had 2 separate UK Ferrari main dealers (with no connection to the car) run the car through the Ferrari system, it is Classiche and I had it inspected and road tested by V Engineering which is headed up by ex head of Ferrari Aftersales in UK. I tried to PM you but I can’t find the button to do it, please forgive my ignorance, I am new to this site - perhaps you might be able to PM me? Many thanks
If Marcel says "I hope you did your homework" then it is not going to be the fact it no longer has Italian air in the tyres, it will be something significant the seller had no doubt not mentioned, or may not have even known about themselves.
I am now in touch with Marcel and extremely grateful for his help. Will revert back later, if appropriate
Or commission a Massini report and all will be revealed, hopefully it is not something that sullies the ownership experience for the latest buyer
That seems to be the car originally delivered to Germany I believe ? Has the Tubi exhaust but not the original ?? Hope it’s all going ok and no issues once you’ve checked with Marcel… that would be a great usable mileage car - if it is gentlemanly /not too personal an update would be appreciated , although totally understand if not - I was looking for another usable mileage F50 to join my current one and briefly saw this car advertised and seemed worth looking into further but hadn’t got around to it …. Anyway - I genuinely hope it’s all Fab and Hunky Dory and you get to enjoy the Joy it is to drive the beast that is the F50….
They were embroiled in that US spec stolen F40 saga a while back, so things can slip through the net, especially given the volume they turn over.
Additionally, they had a Massini report with the car documentation for all interested parties to look at. And that report is dated 2022. So??
Homework is absolutely key, there are many cars with past history you'd want to know about, thankfully there are people whose full-time business is the provenance of individual cars who can help the community - email sent.
I’m not too sociable with other owners irl but my experiences have been positive anyway, people more in the scene probably know things I don’t
