Is there a set interval accumulator should be replaced? Thanks
Exact same accumulator that is in the F430, at a fraction of the cost. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the question was at what point should one consider changing it ? Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
it's a consumable item, it will degrade with age and mileage. So yes, if it's at least 10 years old, worth changing it when they replace the F1 fluid. Also consider changing the F1 pump motor.. not the entire pump, just the motor.
Yes .. I said above 30k or 10 15 years ..so we are both on same page Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
If you are handy and don't mind working on the car .. not hard -- I have stepped thru a few people already
I have noticed they start to give problems at about the 30-35k km point. They do indeed give signs of failure. Excessive pump run time is one indicator..the other is the pump cycling after every gear change. Healthy accumulator and system should allow 3 shifts before the pump cycles.
Another big indication is pump runs for less than 3 seconds each time it runs and like.you said runs too often Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
As a new owner how would I know when the pump is running? Bare in mind my car has a Tubi exhaust and is pretty loud. thanks
The pump should be heard when you open door and turn key to on without engine running You should hear it kick in every so often ( hopefully more than 5 mins) while just key is on Even with Tubi you should be able to hear it near right rear tire Other than that you would need a diag tool or monitor voltage at relay Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
How do you change this accumulator? Do you need to bleed the F1 system? Or can you use a suction method to get some/most of the fluid out of the reservoir and then replace this?
If you do it right you have a very good chance not to bleed Pm your number ..i will walk you thru it Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
FYI my dealer replaced it as during service, just got car back yesterday, car is 2008, on the 3rd shift f1 pump would run, now i get 5 shifts before it runs. F1 pump sounds slightly different when running, all sounds healthy. I also changed engine mounts as PM and along with major service and wheel alignment its made the car feel incredible
The advanced version of Scuding Swiss’ F1 pump ECU (which replaces the electromagnetic relay) has an indicator with LEDs that show when the pump is on and off. I keep this tucked away in the netting and every once in a while have a passenger time the intervals. But a good indicator is probably: How long does your accumulator hold a charge when the car is off? And you can check this without turning the car on simply by lifting (not even opening) the driver’s side exterior door latch. The Scuding unit has many other benefits, but this isn’t the thread for that. PM me or do a search here on FChat for more about that piece. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
