For under $500k, the correct answer is you buy both: F355 with Tubi headers, hi flow cats, Tubi evolution or capristo 2/3 550 or a manual swapped 575M with the full Fabio Fiammengi exhaust
Posted it before but still love it! And can be had in manual for a reasonable cost. But I do love my 430 manual with just challenge headers, the rest stock.
While I agree that the 355 has an amazing sound my fav has always been the 365 GTC/4. 3rd gear at 5000 rpm in a tunnel is the best sound this side of the old F1 cars. A real howl like no other.
355 are heavenly….Like a great band hitting all the notes. BUT my favorite is a 512TR or 512M with tubi and pre-cat delete. The greater frequency range, particularly in the mid band is pure full on symphony with zero drone. I can’t wait to hear a fully built 575 in person (Fabio 6:1 headers/H pipe/ Supersprint axle pipes, etc) in person. Video clips isn’t justice As you only get a hint of the full beauty
Given your criteria - 355, hands down. And, keep the factory exhaust. It sounds beautiful and that’s the way it came from the factory. There’s something to be said for knowing your car is pure, not “kind of a Ferrari”, regardless of the sound other exhausts may create. If Ferrari wanted it to sound differently they would have made it to sound differently.
