Looking to buy a new to me FF and when contacted the dealer they told me the new Power 15 warranty doesn't cover the PTU unit but only covers the PTU cable kits effective 4/22.

Not shocked. I didn't have New Power warranty with my FF, and paid pretty hefty as a result -- but most things wouldn't have been covered anyway. Not sure I'd even recommend it with FF anymore.

That doesn't sound right, but I guess it could be.

Hopefully Steve (SAFE4NOW) sees this, he'll know.

    Thank you for reaching out.

While several things changed April 2022 , a PTU itself should still be a covered component. ( For internal failures though not oil leaks )

MODIS is currently offline as soon as it comes back, I will submit a coverage request, and report back.

FWIW, there is a new web tool in the works, so that Dealership employees AND owners may check coverage!

Can’t imagine spending $6500/year for warranty if the PTU isn’t covered. LaSalle isn’t factory warranty but they do cover it and much less expensive. Exclusionary coverage was like $12k for 4 years

Interesting. Never heard of this warranty program. Has it been good for you?

I’ve never used LaSalle myself but they seem to be the only warranty company for exotics worth buying. They wouldn’t cover my car since it’s tuned. Someone on Fchat had their DCT replaced under the LaSalle warranty with no hassles. My indy shop also told me they pay with no problem.

In the transmission part of the document 550nitis posted, it lists “complete power take off unit” as covered.
