He in no way called YOU a Nazi sympathizer. William was merely pointing out J-P Balestre was a Nazi collaborator in WWII France, that’s all.

His quote, “Unless, you have an inclination for nazi characters, of course” was entirely rhetorical - - the “you have” could just as easily be replaced with “one has,” etc.

It’s still a pointless argument. I never suggested he was of excellent moral character, merely that he took zero crap from the drivers. Hamilton would not have been allowed to get away with this stupid notion that he’s above the rules under Balestre.

    Agreed
That was your point and I got it perfectly.
If we begin to investigate what have done important people ( In France )during World War Two and before, we are in for some surprises..

You surely know that many French top civil servants, politicians, or industrialists had a merky past during WWII, and protected each other later. One of them even became president!

    Absolutely true.
De Gaulle had no choice but said all Frenchs were « résistants » during the war which is plain wrong of course.
Everything was destroyed in the country and De Gaulle perfectly knew he needed some « competent » people to rebuilt the nation.
    Even the worse people..

So a leader trying to impose rules is a Nazi in your book ?
Sorry but the Nazi quote has nothing to do here.
    William knows this perfectly..

People want him gone but boy do you like talking about him. The poor Ricciardo don't even have 1/10 th of this attention.
. We will see at the end of the season who is on top, I think it can be both way, one thing I'm sure is that Russell is one hell of a driver and I don't think he is behind Verstappen or Leclerc.

I think F1 is healthy in the sense that we have a trio of top drivers, then a good bunch of good rivers.

There is competion and if Mercedes makes a come back, or McLaren a breakthrough, that would be perfect.

I am still amazed how Alfa Romeo and Haas have some flashes of genius at times (compared to their past).

But the cars still suck ...

I think he was investigated for it due to having socialist sympathies and suffered for it, but later was found after a lengthy investigation that it was not true, if I remember correctly.

That is one thing I’ve been able to take some joy in, seeing Alfa actually get top ten finishes in a car that was predominantly a back of the pack car. Bottas is a great driver and it feels like a win if they are in the top ten. Especially with the disappointments from sucedería Ferrari.

The new Ferrari engine/hybrid "stuff" has helped both Haas and Alfa Romeo. And yes, Bottas seems to be the one getting the most out of it. Which isn't surprising considering Zhou is a rookie.

    The question is :
Is Bottas the real benchmark for this Alfa Romeo ?
Perhaps this car is more competitive than that?

Bottas and Gasly are pretty equal to my eyes.
Just curious to imagine what a driver like Russell or Norris would achieve with this very good car.

Somehow, I don't think Alfa is in a position to attrack Russell or Norris, who are "top drawer".

Could change next year if this trend is confirmed.
