    Hi Guys,
Prior to the purchase of my car, the dealer said he'd replaced the ashtray with a new one (due to it's appearance?)

Anyway, the cigarette lighter didn't work when I tried to use it for charging.
I looked in the socket and it was rusty!

I ordered a brand new socket from eurospares which turned up ok and just gone to fit it and hit a few snags.

    1. The actual lighter itself is bigger than the new socket I have.
    2. the new socket light ring is bigger than the hole in the ashtray by about 1mm ish.
    3. the old light ring (which is orange in colour) has no light attached to it? (and a rogue single wire was sitting unconnected under the ash tray.
So I guess, is the ash tray (and socket, and in fact the lighter itself?) the wrong one?
Do I also need to buy a new ashtray and a new lighter too?!

The hole needs to be enlarged on the ashtray from what I hear. The original socket is no longer available. Used ones can be found, usually in poor condition for a high price.
    Part #’s, 226941 cigarette lighter body. 61504000, 61107600, 6891300, 61007500.

ahh, so is the orange one the original lighter socket, but the ashtrays weren't updated to take the new green sockets?
(the green one is part number 226941)

Correct, I have a newer ashtray, it has the same size hole as my original. Daniel Pass at Ricambi America’s suggestion was to enlarge the hole on the ashtray.

Ahh yes, then there’s that, replacing the lighter body. I refurbished my original cracked worn out original ashtray is the reason I was searching for the original lighter. They can be found, but not easy to find a nice one…o_O ahh the fun hunt for Ferrari Parts.

Whilst we're here... do you know what this random cable is I found under the ashtray?

From the picture, seeing your seats, it appears you have a Spider. Behind the ashtray are the switches for the soft top. Are any of the switches missing their harness connectors?

It's hard to see what the wire colours are from the photo, but possibly for the optional ABS Cutout switch?

The ABS Cutout Switch wire colours are yellow/blue, 2 blacks and yellow/red.

I do, but no, all seem to be connected.
Ok, I haven't heard of that - could be, I can't quite get the colours from the picture, but certainly does have at least a yellow and a couple of black wires.

    Thanks again guys
