I bought a used 2007 F430 but it came with only 1 key. I am looking to get a spare. How much would it cost from dealer for the key and to cut it and programming?

That's about right, I had the same on my 458 Spider. Came with only 1 key and Ferrari of Seattle quoted around $850 to re-program a new key.

I paid just under a grand as well in December - don't forget to mention your FCA membership for a parts discount. It would be way more if I lost the last remaining fob though.

Also, don't expect it immediately as you'll need to prove ownership (license and registration) Ferarri before they'll cut the key.

I can check my receipts when I get home, but the numbers quoted sound about right.

The wait wasn't too bad, though. After I stopped by with a copy of my registration, the key was in house and ready to go in a couple of days.

    $ 900 if you're lucky. $ 1,100 if you're not.

My key has some scratches from the previous owner.

Does anybody know if it´s possible just to replace the red plastic covers around the key and how much will it cost?

    Cheers.

Ferrari keys are expensive, but readily available. I recently ordered a spare key for my Gallardo, and it was much less expensive (few hundred), but Lambo does not stock keys in this country. So it took a couple months to get one here from Italy. Luckily I was just getting a spare so it didn't matter. If I had lost the only one, I probably would have been screwed!

Can keys be reprogrammed using a Leonardo vs the dealer?

As of 7-24-18 I spoke with tech support from Leonardo and they do not have the software yet to program a F430 key. Definitely a big disappointment.

I'm not sure there are even new OEM key blanks available for a 360.

There are F430 clone keys on AliExpress for less than $20 without electronics and less than $60 with. They just need programming and cutting

speak with immofixer.com, they were able to retrieve my PIN from the fob and clone another fob for me, maybe they'd be able to help with 430 key too. Shouldn't be as expensive as the dealer.

What if you don’t have the code card, but the local dealer originally sold the car new and you are the second owner? Car in question is a 430. I have one key, and I can prove ownership and maybe even get the original owner to come in, if it comes to that.

Original owner is still looking for second key and code card. I am wondering what will happen if he doesn’t find them. Only having one key makes me nervous.

You don’t need a card. Well, maybe a credit card.

So long as you can prove ownership, the dealer will order a second, or third, or fourth key. However many you want.

Then, you need to bring in the car with ALL of the keys you want programmed. Then all of the keys present at the time will be paired with the car, and any previous keys will be erased from memory.

The bonus here is that even if the previous owner finds the other key, it will no longer work in the car.

Key, card and programming from Ferrari Silicon Valley - $1250. Sucked but I made seller drop his price when I heard he only had one key.

The code card for the car can be ordered, Ferrari PN 153603. (This has the mechanical code which is the key cut itself and then the programming code for the immobilizer pill & fob remote lock/unlock) The red card that comes with the keys appears to have no purpose.

I have a hunch that you can take the immobilizer pill and fob guts from used/ebay key and have a normal locksmith cut the key head of those 3rd party F430 keys. You would still need to go to the dealership w code card for immobilizer and fob programming. Ferrari SF is too stupid to attempt this with since they could barely get my completely sealed new 2nd key from Ferrari to work.

I got a used original F430 key off ebay, bought one of those blanks got the key cut from a locksmith and moved the electronics over to the new cut key. Went to the dealer who tried programming it and could not make it work. They then removed the key cover and told me I was missing the immobilizer pill. Do you know what it looks like and how I can remove it from the original? there does seem to be something in the used F430 original key but am afraid to touch in case I make a mistake. It seems to be glued to the black central casing

Another thing, I was initially quoted 279 for the key programming but they later called back to say for a 2005 F430 its 549 since then need to remove the immobilizer ring from the steering column? No idea what that means. They did charge me the full amount even though they could not program the key.

I hope they give you goodwill and attempt the programming again after you transfer the pill. Exacto knife to cut the case and remove & cut the 3rd party case and glue in same orientation.

SF Ferrari did not disassemble my steering column as far as I could tell. I bet they were puzzled by the lack of programming and went and took more time on yours.
