My 208 GT4 has finally arrived from Italy

    It took nearly 7 months but it's here safe and sound. Had it trailered from the dock to a shop to give it a look over and was able to give it a quick spin (my first time driving a GT4), wow I love it! Will need a few things looked after before I have it back from the shop (bushings, steering rod, brakes and some other minor items to sort, but amazingly all of the electrics were fine). The motor is so nice, plenty of pull and revs so sweetly. The sound is killer! Great car.

    They are lower geared than the 3.0 L , and need choke to start and indeed sound sweet .Handle nice on the skinny 195/70/14 balloon tyres .The black dash looks nicer too .

    I totally love this thing - congrats on pulling it off! The bumpers, the colors, the uniqueness of the small bore motor - does it for me! If you ever get the itch to own a darn near perfect bare metal restored bluette Alfa GTV.... let's talk trades ;)

    Hope to be able to meet up sometime and see it IRL / go for some drives.

    Congrats for the Italian purchase. If you like to have the car 100% original, maybe better getting rid of all those Ferrari badges: Dino 208 GT4 never had them.

    But the car looks very nice indeed!

    Having originally owned a 208 GT4 and now owing a 308 GT4 I have to say the 208 sounded better. There is a lot more treble in the induction sound of the 208 which makes it stand out from the exhaust note.

    This clip of mine looks rubbish but the sound is great.

    I love driving my GT4 and can't stand flipping back to my truck (it feels like I'm driving a waterbed, even though I know it's tight). Love the colour and also the black one! What a pair!

    Congratulations! Looks like a totally unmolested example, which is pretty rare! #14948 had only three owners from new in Italy, this added to the great level of preservation.

    Sorry I missed this - I went with Schumacher Cargo and they handled everything soup to nuts and even offered a PPI. Not cheap by any means but I can vouch for a reasonably smooth process that provided great peace of mind.

    I have the documents from the Pubblico Registro Automobilistico (PRA) in my archive. Apparently I had seen a photo of the car with an Italian registration plate and ordered the papers for my archive to identify the car on the photo. For some reason I don't find that photo at the moment.
