Can't quite work it out from the FIA documents as it seems they're incomplete, but if I'm right Leclerc's 1st turbo (That they could use) has bahrain, jeddah, australia, Imola, (all practices, qualies and races) and miami FP1/2/3 on it. That's quite a lot. But the only way to avoid penalties.
I would think that overtaking at Silverstone is easier (higher downforce), but the risk of yet another turbo failure using such an old unit are quite high. I think changing all elements would result in a pitlane start even?!
We are in for 6 or 7 PU for Ferrari this year so frankly it doesn’t matter where anymore. If you asked I’m pretty sure Binotto already told the team they won’t be able to fight for both titles this year..
Binotto declared that early in the season, I believe. That was commented on this forum as demotivating for the team. What happened at Baku unfortunately may confirm that.
That's true. An entire new unit in canada should allow them to at least fight for victory in Silverstone. Taking a penalty at silverstone rules that out and using the old turbo will limit power and risk another failure as well...sigh.

They’ll do this for sure after a bad quali at some point or at a Sprint race. Here they have a chance to win so if they have confidence in the life of the turbo they’ll try to keep turbo #1. The big question mark is the part that failed—a part that seemingly has not had issues for years. Was this a one-off quality problem or a bad batch? If so, they need to track down the whole batch. Would be interesting to know what happened to MAG and if it’s related.
Both tthe engine and turbo are unrecoverable. Did the turbo let go and parts got inside the ICE that destroyed it or did the ICE fail...
Could be both, yes? If compressor end of turbo fails pieces will be ingested by the ICE and damage it. If the engine fails and liberates bits, this will damage the turbine end. From the article, if the failure initiated at the ICE cylinder head then likely the turbo also damaged as a result. Really unlucky if that’s the case.
Quite worrying...if it kept being a turbo failure it would seem like a lot simpler fix, like Red bull and their fuel issues. It's constantly different things for Ferrari engines, ICE, Turbo, MGU failures, hydraulic issues...

The randomness of the engine bit that failed and the hydraulic pump are the concern, really. Apparently the turbo that failed at Barcelona was probably installed or operated incorrectly and its failure caused the MGU-H failure. Same thing here with the collateral damage of the turbo.
I'm just trying to figure out on what laps will the Ferrari engines give up on ? I'm gonna guess before lap 15 or is that wishful thinking?
