Saw this on Twitter: 2 things LEC can’t seem to catch: 1/ a break 2/ a flight But seriously, WT? And did he fly commercial? Just lease a Global 7500 or G650–he can afford it. Watch him have a good car this weekend but be jet lagged.
I'm amazed he doesn't fly private either with the top brass of the team or a couple of drivers (Max/Ric/Grosjean/Rosberg etc used to fly together all the time, for example). Especially from Nice with it's **** connection. Maybe Max can give him a lift...but he's in Austria driving V10 F1 cars today
I know what dull racing is. But what is dull weather? Clouds following each other in formation with no passing?
While many of us anticipated that Ferrari's success this year would not last long, despite the fast start, is the season really over? Has Leclerc no chance to win on Sunday, if it doesn't rain?
I also wonder if Ferrari is just turning the PU up too much during qualifying and that in itself is part of the problem I'm just armchair quarterbacking as the guy carries the leaf blowers around in the garage has forgotten more than I'll ever know about an F1 PU, but they seem to put a lot of emphasis on getting pole. Where I think in prior years that was very important, I think this year maybe not so much.
Ferrari gets more poles than Red Bull this year, but doesn't translate that in wins. Overstressing their engine in qualifs to get pole may be a factor of unreliability. By now Ferrari knows the strength and weakness of their car and should have realised that pole isn't that important in their case.
Pole is primordial right now. Without reliability and strategical failures in Spain, Monaco and Baku it could have been 3 victories in a row. Their new floor combined with the new low downforce rear wing will make the life a lot harder for Red Bull in the remaining races.
Well I sure hope so in the interest of keeping the WDC open. Monaco was a brain fart from the pits, not much you can do about that (other than sack Binotto) but the DNFs are more concerning. I like Max and Charles the same so I'm happy with either of them winning the title. I just don't want either of them running away with it. At the beginning of the season it looked bleak for Max and now it's the opposite. Hopefully things will soon even out. That said, right now Charles needs to first get by Perez' points to even get close to Max. Unlike Max whose sole competitor is Charles. Sainz remains plagued by the worst luck ever.
Well, it's their team, but it looks to me that solving reliability is more important than pole. Most motorists know how to give some relief to an engine on its limits: reduce the revs and lower the turbo boost just a bit. That would be addressing a weakness, rather than brushing it aside. As for the sentence I have highlighted, success isn't made of "ifs".
I know, but what's the point of being ahead for half a race, and then blow the engine and retire? Is that a wise choice?
Better scoring points than DNFs in my book. Different priorities here. Sometimes you have to compromise like Bas says.
Still hopeful that Ferrari and Red Bull have about equal cars, and that we can catch up development wise the rest of the year. It's a long season, plenty of different tracks, possible wet weather, etc. There are so many variables in a season, anything could happen.

Agree. What's better/more motivating? Finishing 2nd iin the WCC but no real shot at wins, or finishing 2nd but retiring from the lead half the time? To me, the latter for sure.
