    Got this Omega de Ville co-axial chronometer (calibre 2500) a few minutes ago, the strap was crap and went straight to the trash. I am using a temporary NATO strap 2mm too wide, ghetto style. The dial is dark blue. I am thinking about a dark blue French chèvre strap with a black fil chinois thread?

    I returned earlier this week from my father's funeral.

    I've been wearing his antique watch ever since I got back home even though it doesn't work anymore.

    It is a tiny little thing but its solid 14k gold art deco case sparkles and shouts despite its size. I can't get a good picture. Even the Speidel band looks right to me. ... I have no objectivity.

    First, sorry for your loss. Lost my Dad 17 years ago and it still sucks.
    Second, I hope you have it overhauled. I had my grandfather’s watch and my great uncle’s watch rebuilt. Rebuild will probably be more than it is worth monetarily, but it will always make you smile when you wear it.

    Sorry for your loss Brian.

    +1 on the rebuild… very cool piece made even more special given the connection to your dad. I too have a ring that my dad used to wear and that he gifted to me prior to passing away. I wear it on special occasions and/or when I miss him. It instantly makes me feel that he’s close by and brings me a ton of joy. Hoping this watch does the same for you.
