Hmm... Is it possible that the 2.7 version of this car didn't have an exhaust sensor?

Just looked at my 2.7 car. There is no sensor. I would find someone that can tig weld and have one put in.

Trial mounting the Borla, it looks like the compression connections on either side of the bypass valve are different on the different gens. The exhaust i have is shifted to the right 45 degrees where the OEM one is straight up and down. ::FACEPALM::

@Admins - please retitle this slide "355 2.7 and 5.2 exhausts are NOT compatible". A friend thinks a welder can weld a metal piece at 12 and 6 o'clock. Will see tomorrow.

@Ed Russell - if you have a moment, can you confirm your 2.7 compression is angled 45 degrees to the right?

I am looking at mine. Two bolts at the 12 and 6 position. Like yours straight up and down. I do not know what you have there.

Not sure why the flange on your exhaust has the bolt holes at that angle, but none of the 355's did it that way. You're going to need to take it to a welder and have the flange rotated or a different one installed, and have the bypass thermocouple bung added as well.

Don't get discouraged, this is all par for the course when doing mods!

It would be a PITA but if all else lines up. Cut the flange off the muffler. Bolt everything together and tack it in place. Then remove everything and weld it up. Alot of extra work but I can not see any options.
