Please explain the gear change on the right side. Is it a push forward and pull backward for gear change or an some kind of a pattern?
It would have been nice to purchase the 250 they sold a long time ago. It was in the showroom but I missed the opportunity. It's now some type of a cult bike.
I put some Apex riser bars and a set of Gilles rearsets and a Corse tall screen on the old 2006 GSX-R1000 to make it all day comfortable….what a difference! With the quiet stock pipe you can haul the mail without attracting a lot of unwanted attention….this thing is now quite the gentleman’s express. Most American bikes of this era used a foot clutch, and a hand gear change; not unlike most cars actually. Indian was famous for a left handed throttle (so the Police could shoot with their right hand?) This bike actually features a Police Shifter, which linked directly to the transmission. After 1936 this style shifter was changed to a tank-side location, which required some linkage & bell cranks. This style is considered more direct. Indian use a 3 speed crash box, and the pattern for this bike is one up toward you for 1st, then shifting through neutral to obtain 2nd, then 3rd. It's all in a straight line.
