What is even more impressive is that those stats including WDC would be 20-35% higher if he was 100% dedicated to his craft like MS, MV instead of all the other stuff he does and if he had Lehto, Jos, Herbert, Irvine, Barrichello, and Massa as teammates instead of Alonso, Button, Nico, Bottas and Russell. As far as natural talent nobody comes close to LH.

And comparing Vettel to Senna is just an idiotic attempt, and you know it. Hell, compare Senna to Rosberg...Button...Kimi...what are your thoughts on those comparisons. I know we lost Senna way too young and no doubt (in my mind) that he would have become one of the greatest champions ever. Shame on you for playing that card...it's pitiful and sad.

There's no way that Vettel or Ham are greater than Senna, despite the statistics.

 

Winning with an inferior car( even slightly) is the main differentiator between world champions ( every year) and best in history.

Prost did it in 1986.
Senna in 1991.
And Max in 2021.
Only missing is Alonso in 2012.

Hamilton can only win when provided with a clearly dominant car. Even then, not always. That's not what I would call "natural talent nobody comes close to." Hell, Nico Rosberg beat him straight up despite being his designated #2, and Nico is nobody's GOAT. That is a fact.

 

Wait...the team with the best car lost because of DRIVERS? I've pointed out, in at least 3 posts, that there are plenty of examples of the BEST car NOT winning, but you guys continue to imply that ANYONE can win the title in the M-B so what Lewis has done is no big deal.

Hamilton has won 103 out of 297 races he started ... for a winning percentage of 34.68% (3rd place in history)
Clark won 25 out of 73 races he started ... for a winning percentage of 34.25% (4th place in history)

So, while Hamilton has won more races than anyone ... if he goes ~4 more races without a win, he will fall into 4th place, behind Clark, for most races won per races started.

(and NO, that's not a statistic recently fabricated by some hamilton hater)

 

No...again, don't confuse your "Opinion" with "Facts". "Fact" is Nico won the championship. "Opinion" is that "Hamilton can only win with a clearly dominant car". As post #409 pointed out, the BEST car is part of it, not all of it. Somehow, Lewis won 7 WDC's

A little few could have challenged him during the Mercedes era.
We simply imply that this Mercedes era was something unique during Formula one history because of their pace and reliability advantages they had compared with others.
We disagree about the fact that statistics are the only tool to ponder Lewis place in the rankings.
