F1 missed the boat completely by not adopting synthetic fuel already.

That would have been a good showcase for that technology and shown there is alternative to electrification.

Instead, F1 went further and further electric with KERS, then hybrid, etc ...

The synthetic fuel option risks to vanish because of lack of interest, support and apathy.

Either get rid of DRS or get rid of the "no movable aerodynamics" rule. They cannot make sense together.

loose 200Kg and mandate 96" maximum wheelbases.

Fine the race director $100,000 for every time he throws the red flag that is found unnecessary later.
If a subsequent car harms a support personnel while that section has a yellow flag, the driver is banned for the rest of that year.

V-10. Manual gearbox. Only electronics allowed on the engine for fuel and spark and steering wheel. Only thing allowed on steering wheel is drink button and PTT. Spec front and rear wing.

Even better. 3.5 V10, 16500 revs or so. Manual gearbox. Real skill. Great racing.

I don't understand why the ECU needs to know anything about the steering wheel.

And you forgot, radio is from driver to team, pit-board is for team to driver.

Just get rid of the mandatory pit stops dictated by “tire management” and we’ll have better racing. Give every team a choice of compounds…or even just give every team one compound plus inters and wets….and let ‘em have at it. The two-compound requirement is dumb and takes the race out of the drivers’ hands and dumps it in the laps of the pit wall pillocks.

I don’t understand why so many people apparently believe that the current regulations regarding tires are something that’s acceptable. It’s a complete artifice. Apparently the marketing geniuses think watching tire changes in the pits is more exciting than watching uninterrupted racing on the track.

    undercut
    overcut
    double stack
    Poosh now! Poosh now!

Cut the bull **** and race. And while you’re at it get rid of stupid grid penalties for infractions that are no fault of the driver.

    Whew. I feel better…..:)

F1 should adopt a number of elements from BTCC and DTM, those series are generally incredibly entertaining and very competitive. Grid mix ups, penalty ballast etc. I’m not suggesting these exact tactics, but brainstorm with those organizers. I’m sure Berger has some great ideas.

FE is full of gimmickry and not a real sport. It's a research lab for manufacturers. They could run it without drivers.

    Result = dreadfully dull.

If boring is three different winners from two teams. Seven different podium sitters from four teams, plenty of overtaking and the best looking cars we've seen this century then sign me up.

Boring was the turn of the century when FIA stood for Ferrari International Assistance and the only question was how far was the dangerous bad sportsman going to win by. 88 was also a bore when the only high point was Senna hitting Schlesser allowing Berger to win in Italy taking the season tally to McLaren 15, Ferrari 1, everyone else 0 for the win tally.

2003 and 2004 are still better looking.

But perhaps the best looking cars ever were the early ground effect cars that did not even need a nose wing.
