    Looks more like Blue LeMans.
A weird color; almost black in the dark, which changes to a light deep blue via purple depending on light. My 456 is BLM and after some getting used to it I really like it. Lots of mica in it and quite a lot of red as well.

Definitely could be blu lemans.. aka blu scuro micalizatto in some markets (both paint code FER 516/C). It is quite close to tdf in medium light (I've had many samples made in the process of choosing which blue to paint my 512TR, including 516/C, and have a tdf 550).

    Here's a 512TR in that color:

    https://duttongarage.com/Ferrari-tr~40458

and a 512M, but in much brighter light, looks a lot different:

Would these rims fit a 550? They look good and a bit more sporty than the original 550 rims... Thanks. And what a beautiful color!!

A guy in Norway waited 14 years to get his Masersti Mexico finished during restoration. :)

No idea.. the front tires on the 512TR are 235 vs 255 on the 550, so the wheel may be a little narrower.. Googled it and indeed 550 front wheel is 8.5" vs 8" 512TR. Rears are the same width but I don't know about the offsets.

Not even sure if you meant standard 512TR wheels on the first link or the aftermarket ones on the 512M? I don't think the seller gave any detail on the aftermarket 512M wheels, they could be non-standard size. Listing was 6 years ago, in Japan, and says he spent 100k on the wheel and brake upgrade.

I also would recommend wil de Groot; real straight shooter and you can sure that he will get the job done to the highest standard.

In terms of parts, the main assemblies are the control plate for the gearbox, which I’ve recreated, and the shift turret, which is mostly there. I just do this for a bit of fun though, but the prototyping is quite a slow process to get everything working and feeling just right. I like Art at EAG; he’s clearly talented and hard working, but I do think it’s hard to justify this kind of timeframe.

I guess today Art posted they are only going to do fifty 575 conversions? Why would they do that? I guess it creates demand and then they could always reneg and do more?

Seems like smart business to me. They'll get parts made much cheaper by ordering 50 pieces, so this allows them to offer a better price and a higher yield. The "limited" aspect of it hopefully getting a lot of pre-orders in and allowing them to recoup their investment quickly.

They can make as many as they want of course, but I would figure that future batches will be more expensive.

They would fit, assuming you can find them. You would need rear spacers.

Carbon fiber ball shift gates came with the shift pattern, but that one has neither.

Not to derail the discussion here, but are those really that expensive?
Here is one on ebay for $500.....not sure if it's genuine? Or maybe a better question is how to determine whether it is genuine?

My 550 has the carbon interior. I have an extra shift knob that I pulled from a 355 GTS I owned years ago which seems to look identical... just sitting in my toolbox.

I’ve seen prices vary between 3-900 depending on condition/clouding, but never over $1000. But last I saw sold was over a year ago so who knows what happened more recently?

Having tried both the carbon shift knob and the steel version, I can wholeheartedly say the steel one feels a lot nicer. So much more weight and solidity to it; just more satisfying to hold and the weight gives the shift a more substantial feel.

Carbon one does look cool though, even if the concept of saving a few grams on the gear knob is a bit silly on a car like this.

If an owner has the complete kit, Boardwalk will perform the conversion for you.

I just haven't any owners that have received their conversion kit to do so.

From what I remember I think boardwalk did the first 599 conversion. If that’s accurate I would love to hear your thoughts. Not many have been able to experience a gated 599, but the feedback was mixed, some said it was a tricky clutch

You are correct, we did the first one. It drove and shifted like the original gated 599's did. Personally, I enjoyed it.

Clutch was not a problem to me, just managing the power, with one hand on the wheel, the other on the shifter under full load... you need to be paying attention, that's for sure.
