Yes, I guess the French will claim Leclerc as one of them if he wins a title. We know nothing about his origins, how his family obtained the Monegasque nationality, etc ...
I watched part of the Piquet video from last November and he does sound like an ass in that video. Not sure if he was racist when he used that term but demeaning for sure and implied some homophobic things as well.

Murray is Scottish, but the Englanders love him regardless. Best they've had since Greg Rusedski and let"s not talk about devolution
Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Dario Franchiti, Jimmy McRea, and many others were also Scottish; in Britain we don't make a difference. Do you know that even if devolution takes place, the Scotts will still be British ?
You are talking about British I am talking about English and if they wish to put a toll booth on the border I'm ok with that too
English, Scottish or Welch are all British. British means inhabitant of Great Britain, the biggest of the British Isles.
I'm fully aware of British history and the games of it"s various Monarchs. I was schooled in England but ask Jackie Stewart if he's English or Scottish
I often wonder how people have so much spare time to come up with so much disapproval, vitriol, hate, disgust, jealousy, and general meanness over someone they've never met nor will ever meet. I guess it's just the times, if their favorite media person can spew it, must be OK for them to. Who knew an F1 driver could inspire so many "Get off my lawn" guys....It really is quite sad. Happily, most folks have more positive things to do with their lives.
I often wonder how lulu and crew have time to worry about the whales, the snails, the trees, and the bees, and make it slap everyones face who doesnt give a crap . What do ya think jimmy? Is that not reason enough? His skittles helmet is pissing me off!
Is an absence of insult 'political correctness' or just human decency? I don't subcribe to any of the metrics used to drive thought and behavior from a socio-politico stance, but I also don't make a habit of frying someone for my own entertainment. I think the mixing of those two schools of thought as justification for boorish behavior is why we have such a tempestuous society these days. I don't really worry about people saying crap things about me personally (and obviously Hamilton really doesn't either) but watching the world choose to sink to the lowest common denominator of self-absorption and ugliness is disheartening. Having a 'right' to be that way isn't an invitation....
I never ask anyone if he is English or Scottish, but rather if he is British. You don't offend that way. Jackie Stewart can say that he is Scottish, but it says British on his passport. You are talking about regions of the same country. Just like a Californian or a Texan have an American passport. I would like to know how many Scotts live in England. Many of them are in the Police, the custom service, the fire brigade, plenty in the armed forces, or the health service in England; maybe as many as those living in Scotland. Didn't we have several Scottish Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom? plenty of MPs? etc ...
??? Scotland is not part of England. Scotland is part of the Union, otherwise known as Great Britain. You also know that each country within the Union has it"s own Parliament and its own laws. Billy Connolly would smack you in the face if you accused him of being English
Somebody complained that Lewis Hamilton hurled a racist slur at them? I agree if Hamilton offended anyone with racist epithets, then Lewis is a hypocrite, when did this happen?
