For a single person, its quite good. If you don't need to carry or pick up much stuff. It does get a bit more attention than you would if you had a Lexus. Comfort-wise its excellent. I've taken some all day road trips and its a great GT. I pop the top all the time if the weather is good or at night. Visibility is a little restrictive but it has lane warning, a great back up camera, and a camera rear view mirror inside. I love the parking camera. Makes parking so less stressful.

A/C top up is good. I like the cooled seats also. I never had Apple carplay before but its really grown on me. I use it for Waze.

I pick up groceries, etc in it. Anything bigger I just order delivered (like on Amazon).

The only downside is it does chew up gas if you DD it.

If you use it as a DD I would suggest the front lift and the Mag ride.

I ordered the all tan interior. There are some reflections in the glass you have to get used to and I put in black floor carpets from Lloyds because the tan carpets looked horrible every time you step in it.

After 18 months I have no wear and tear issues with the paint or interior.

Good to hear. It sounds like I’ll be using it a lot like you do and I have an SUV standing by if I need more room. It’s funny, but I remember always being surprised how good my C7 was with gas and can I remember a road trip I took with it and I was 31mpg on the highway. Hopefully the C8 is better on the gas then my 458 lol.

Fully reliable, comfortable, great infotainment, great visibility. I'd DD if I ever went anywhere. I WFH and just drive the kids to school and run errands anymore, but I'd have no issue sitting in traffic in the C8, parking in garages, etc. I'm really impressed with how boringly reliable it is for a 1st year car. Only done 3500 miles but it's obviously rock solid.

Built my car and gave Ciocca 2nd deposit on 6/2. They told me it went in with their June allocation and I should see the car sometime in August. Does this make sense? I thought I read that I would be contacted by the Corvette concierge?

I bought one for my wife- she loves it.

I was/am not really a fan but I couldn't be happier with the purchase- a real good bang for the buck. Perfect for my wife- just enough power without being dangerous, very comfortable and drives very well. Solid, unlike the rattle-prone tackle boxes I've ridden in the past.

    A good purchase.

3300 is scheduled for production. About a week later you should be at 3400 and then another week you'll be in production. Once built look for another 2 weeks before they ship it.

So you are about 1 month / 6 weeks from getting it.

Unless Corvette uses a different mode of transport, GM can't hardly get a car from point A to point B these days. Some cars show up quick, as expected while others take months and these are finished cars in a storage lot, not waiting for parts.

Finally after 19 months of ownership, I got my glovebox repaired! First dealer (in LA) blew me off twice just giving the car back to me. Second dealer in LV actually looked at it and then ordered "a glovebox". After 7 weeks of waiting for the part they spent 2 full days fixing it.

My guess is that it didn't need "a glovebox" at all and there was another problem they didn't diagnose correctly. Perhaps wiring.

Anyway it does work now. But the weakest link in Chevy is their dealer service and parts. No wonder they want to go all electric.

As perhaps a comp, I went for 3300 to final courtesy delivery in 6 weeks. It sat built-in BG for third weeks b4 the over the road carrier picked it up.

Years ago Chevrolet was developing a twin turbo V8 for their top performance Corvette. Their prototype burned down to the ground; a total loss damage at the proving grounds. They decided to go with a supercharger performance version V8 instead. For better or worse there is no escaping the electricity this time around..

It might be a great car because it's likely the last
hurrah. 12 exhaust systems available, wheels, brakes, suspension etc, etc, etc. 2 super charger systems.3-4 turbo systems.50-60 hp with simple external bolt ons. I love mine. A lot of more expensive car owners look real hard with a jealous eye. fix it almost anywhere and parts if needed come from Detroit not Maranello.

I got my HTC in Dec. 2020. Use the car all of the time and have taken several 2000 mile trips. Car has been very reliable and have only been to the dealers for 3 oil changes. My only complaint is ride quality. It is more firm then I expected even with the mag ride. I laugh because I compare it to my 77 308 GTB and it does ride better than that LOL. Also does pretty good in the snow around here . I'm due in this month for my 22,500 mile DTC filter change . Enjoy the ride as life is shorter then you think.

    Well, finally got it.

Had a guy & his wife come over looking to buy my GT3RS. Showed them my 812 and then what was under cover #3- my wife's C8 convertible.

    And during the conversation...........

    Wait for it........

"it kinda looks like a Ferrari......."

Of course the irony is that when I went to specc my 575 back in '04 my wife and kids didn't like it as it didn't look like a Ferrari and u know the ".....corvette....." thing everyone says. So I bought a 360 spider and later a Vanquish S, which everyone asked "is that a Viper........."
