Beautiful 206 at my shop. Dino blu Mettallizzato, which you don't see many this color. I believe there were 10 206 dinos in this color. Interesting enough is that my 206 is this same spec. In for correct exhaust, correct Irvin seat belts, correct fuel cap, correct shift knob, correct ignition wires, engine lettering and dash mousehair.

    Jon,

I'm having my 246 painted now. I noticed at some point, someone replaced my dash with an incorrect one. My car never had ac, but it has a dash with 3 vents. Is it difficult to remove the dash so I could replace with a correct 2 vent. My painter said the dash's were spot welded in. Is that right?

Looking at the Ferrrari 246 parts manual, 3 vents were standard on the Ferrari 246 from chassis 2132. I am not sure what your serial number is, but you list it as a 1972. You might want to double check this with others. On my 1971 Ferrari 246 it only has 4 screws that hold in the dash, 2 on each side.

They are fairly easy to get out, but not just the 2 screws on each side that hold it in, but you also have to remove the gauges and their 3 plugs and separate clock wire, radio, various switches, steering wheel, turn switches and their 3 plugs, unhook vent cables, and unhook vent tubes going to dash outlets. It will then come out. I've changed a number of them to two holes by uncovering the mouse hair and fiberglassing the third hole. You will possibly have to recover the dash unless you can peel back the mousehair and re glue.

Interesting...thought I had this confirmed through the dino compendium and looking at various Dino's on YouTube, with and without ac. Could it be that, there seems to be lots of running changes and variances as production went on? I have chassis 3866, a earlier model than the ones mentioned

Is it wired for AC. Many cars Ive restored were wired for AC and power windows when they were not installed. On a 74 my bet would be that AC wires are in the harness.

I did not check the wiring loom. I did have electric windows. I only looked for mounting of evaporator, compressor, temperature and blower fan controls, relay box etc. I was curious if the a/c was removed. Were the non a/c Dino's you restored with a/c wiring 3 vent dash?

Mine has AC wiring, extra fan relay, and 3 holes but was not delivered with AC. My guess is standardization was easier on the assembly line.

    Omgjon,

Can you tell me where a rollback tow truck hooks up to a dino 246 if you break down? Let's face it, it's bound to happen, sooner or later. Just saw your pics of Dino's in your shop, so obviously, you work in these cars and know them. I don't think there's a tow hook under the cars?
