I have an F12 which I drive once a week. I have a few other cars but my 500 gets driven more than anything. It gets more attention than anything else! Most common description, (from women), "cute and adorable". I bought a 700cc engine from Rosario which will be installed in the Fall.

So funny you say this. I have a 360 Modena and the Fiat 500. It is not even close, the Fiat gets WAY more attention than the Ferrari. People stop and talk to me all the time, wave, smile. etc.. I took the Ferrari to Cars on 5th in Naples and it was fun, then we took the Fiat one year and Boom it was like being a rock star. All kinds of people interested in the car and like you mentioned it it very popular with the ladies!

Very funny! Didn't mention that Rosario is also doing the suspension on mine. I also forgot to mention that mine is an Italian Carabinieri look a like with stripes, Light and sirens. When people smile and wave I put the light and sirens on. Sometimes I don't drive it because I always have people wanting to talk and take pics. I just won my class in a car show here in Savannah with it. It was Popular Car, not judged, and so I won over some expensive restored vehicles leaving some owners disappointed.

Does anyone know if the 60s fiat 500s need to be double-clutched when driving them?

Yes, if they have the original gearbox with no synchros then you will have to double clutch.

Agreed, but my 71 only needs to be double clutched in first gear. Shifts better than my 86 911.

Double clutch all the way. Downshifting is never easy though.
My Cinquecento gets way more attention than either of my Ferraris and instantly brings a smile to peoples faces [emoji4]

You don't have to double clutch with a synchro. If you do, something's wrong. That's the benefit of having a synchro. I am keeping my non synchro four speed because a number of people told me the original four speed is stronger than the five speed synchro and I'm not doing any higher speed cruising with the car. My car will have 50 to 55 hp when it's done with new clutch and suspension.

I didn’t! I kept the original tranny. Double clutching doesn’t bother me. I’m used to it. If the trans gives me issues at some point then I will swap it out for a syncro

Very nice. I have one with a 700 engine about 55 hp. A lot of fun. What mods do you have on it?
