I’m actually not a salmon dial fan. If I was going to do the 5172 ( which is gorgeous) I prefer the blue dial.

Nah…if I’m going to spend 350-400k, I’m going all in on minute repeater.

    5374 is a wishful want.

6301 would be the ultimate grail.

doubt I’ll ever have the resources to get either one.

I have slowly acquired some Patek watches over last 10 years. Like cars there are also some other brands I enjoy so I don’t exclusively buy Patek. I like having a mix of complications on leather which cover both the Lemania 2321 movement (5970P, 5070P) and the newer in house movements (5170G, 5370P). I round out my leather strap collection with auto wind 5905P and I put deployant clasp on for ease. Also enjoy the sports models both Nautilus and Aquanaut. The 5167, 5712 and 5740 are incredible on the wrist with 5740 bringing the heft of WG case and bracelet. 5968g adds some color and gets lots of wrist time during summer. 5167 gets worn the most with 5970 and 5740 not far behind

Next two of interest are 5905A in steel and bracelet. Was able to try on and I really like it with steel bracelet Congrats to those who have received already. 5326G is the second one.

If there is one reference that I would like to own in every metal and dial combination it is the 5970, everything about it is perfect. Hopefully in this downturn I can pick a few up.

I woke up this morning sick to my stomach (being melodramatic) as I turned down another Patek. Will not mention the model but it is not financially wise for me spending $100K on a luxury item during these "weird" times. My company is doing great but I do not want to jinx it. Plus I just spent $200k on watches past 5 months. Now if it was an Aquanaut or Nautilus, I might have pulled the trigger.
I just hope my SA keeps me in mind for future watches.

No sympathy please. I am a glass is half full kind of guy.

There will be plenty of watches to buy. Don’t sweat it. If you don’t like the piece don’t buy it. Only buy things you love.

I don’t mean to pry but just curious though which piece did you turn down? You got the 5524 I think right?

Nautilus and Aquanaut are fine but when the hype dies down, the traditional Pateks will always be special.
