At fish and chips, I always order halibut. A little port city called Steveston not too far from me. Is home to a large fishing fleet. You can buy fish fresh off the boats. Some go as far as Alaska and bring back halibut.

Have three tortilla's left. So plan to make a tuna wrap in the air fryer again.

When we were in Oregon, it went into the mid-80s, and there were heat warnings!
This was early morning the other day, took the Cali for a spin before the sun got too high in the sky.

It rained overnight, so the worst is over, they say, but temps still in low triple digits.

OK, on to food! Eating out - at least for wife & I - is biggest drag on long road trips, so we stayed @ a Residence Inn during our mad dash portion of the trip, and it had a grill. I didn't realize the grill lid was not fully sealed, so when I got back from cleaning dishes, we had a major conflagration!! Black & blue steak to the max. Still better than eating ut. Sweet corn in the PNW was great. We started buying it whenever we could, even to pop into the microwave at night as a treat.

Not a bad kitchen view. Downtown Missoula, Montana. Cute little college town.

Ended up getting Domino's and it was a mistake. Pizza wasn't very good. Undercooked and skimped on the toppings.

Made wings the other night. My new system is simmer in electric wok for about 25 min or so until cooked through. Load up the liquid with spices. I did spicy gojuchang & garlic. Take wings out, grill quickly to get some char & crisp on them. Boil down the liquid until it's a thick consistency. Mix sauce with wings. Enjoy

howdy folks, sorry I was MIA for a while…got done working on that temp gig down in Phoenix and immediately went fly fishing and then hosted 10 family members at our house for a week, then more fly fishing. Finally have a minute today and thought I’d check in on this thread.

    Seems y’all are eating well!!

I’ll post some recent meals and catch up…

Okay, catching up, will try to post them in time-based order.

First-up, perhaps my favorite place down in Scottsdale, Andreoli Italian Grocer. Grilled calamari and a farfale with sausage. Perfectly authentic place and absurdly good. I ate there 2x per week on my many trips down there for work over the past couple of months.

Not really, base is a store bought roasted tomato soup in a box that’s great for doctoring up. Really tasty.

Next up, was, err...well, there is a Corn Dog trailer that comes to my little ranching valley in the summer. And this was my long-anticipated first one of the year. Served with their signature drizzled honey and mustard. Best corn dogs I've ever had.
