    I snapped it a second too late. It was 118 F when we got into the truck. Happily, the shade temp was only 104 F today.

    Being so hot, we did salad and gazpacho. Tomatoes, cuke, bell peppers, garlic and spices. I doctored mine up with
    serranos.

    Neighbor gave us some zucchini from their garden. We made a pasta with it plus some leftover lemon chicken similar to the one from the other day. Was yummy.

    Had Burger King with my brother. Not many restaurant choices in the area. So we did the best option. Whopper and onion rings.

    very easy to make, but not sure about healthy given the amount of butter I used lol. I boiled the potatoes for 10 min and then added corn into the same pot for another 5 min.

    Once the potatoes and corn are done, Toss them and cherry tomatoes in the sauce which is about a cup of butter, 5 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon of old bay seasoning.

    after spreading out the veggies on the sheet pan, coat the shrimp in the remaining sauce and arrange on the sheet pan. Bake at 400 deg for about 10-15 min or until shrimp is cooked through.

    Its about 100 inside my house. Was going to get sushi, but my brother and his family decided to visit me this weekend. My SIL is Chinese, born and raised in China. She's a picky eater. Only eats Asian foods. So my plan is to get a couple party trays with nigiri and rolls for Sat night. Sunday I'll get Chinese take out even though she is not a big fan of Americanized Chinese. I'll let her order some dishes she likes.

    Hearts of palm pasta. Wife got it at Costco "This looks interesting" seal of approval. It tasted OK to me, doctored up with a little EVOO, garlic, red pepper flakes and parmesan...T

    100 inside the house. No A/C, like most houses here. 94 or so outside. Still hot for us and too hot to cook.

    Brutal. My wife would be moving into a hotel!
    Stay cool. My grandma said that drinking hot coffee cools you off when it's hot. I think she may have been into the sambuca when she said that!

    How hot & dry has it been here? We hopped in the 4 Runner & drove three or four towns northwest - about 50 miles - of our humble burg where it was raining! And 75 F. That's the first seven in a temp we've seen since we got back to Texas two weeks ago.
