I cannot wait! Picking it up with my equally fanatic 23 year old. Will plan a non-motorway route - Nottingham to Weybridge, stopping often to let the car cool down!!
Well, had to have one fitted. Installed on Monday. No great shakes. Has good functionality and was going to get one anyway. I doubt I will sleep the first night and keep looking out the bedroom window. House on the market, as of yesterday.... need more garage space.
What did Vodafone have to say about the oem factory tracker then ? They will probably have to pull the dash board to fit it.
Car is fine while moving. The only reason that I mentioned to open the engine bonnet when you are parking the car at the end of the day is to let the heat escape. Over time, if there is no airflow in the engine bay, all that heat will discolor the engine interior panels. You can reduce the heat by blankets on headers or ceramic coat the headers. The biggest heat difference will come with the exhaust. The best exhaust to reduce engine heat is a tubi exhaust built for Ferrari. I've attached a picture of what it looks like. I have been to UK many times.. What I wonder... why UK folks buy convertibles. To drive them in the *one* sunny AND warm day they get per year ??
Ha. I think you will find we are one of the worlds largest consumers of convertibles. Personally, I have two and have the roof down throughout the year, even in near freezing condition. Heated seats, heating on... fine. We love 'em over here.
Had an interesting journey back. Car was flawless. Weather was freaking hot so we stopped off every 30 minutes and had drinks. Had caps on to protect out heads but arms were burnt What a great car. Already in love. One thing I did find, to which my son agreed, is that the exhaust does not need changing. I love it when the valve opens and you get that roar. I was considering having the valves open but nah - I'd miss the 'event' of that animalistic bark which just brings a smile to our faces. It was certainly loud enough.. maybe I have custom headers. Certainly, it is the standard muffler. There is a silver blanket 6 inches under and behind the muffler. Is that standard?
Just wondering if somebody added this after changing the headers/brackets, etc. No idea! I don't know where to look. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Documentation just says 'headers replaced' with no further info. Was about 3500 miles ago but several years. I will wait for signs of an issue and then go the Tubi or Capristo route, with the suspension bracket (which I might even have - no idea)
I knew something didn't look right... Also, somebody must have dropped it, as it is definitely not round now.
Because convertibles can be used anytime it isn't raining - even then can be used if its light and you're not in built up areas. What can I say we're an optimistic bunch That said, I felt less of a poser doing it in my S2000's etc than I do my 360 Spider... but don't really think about what others think of me tbf. Nice F430 and Manual too, enjoy it Sounds like you're in a similar boat to me re thoughts on the Ferrari owners club gb value for money wise (ie it's hard to perceive it to decide) - I've not joined that yet either
I joined FOC (£130) and Drivers Union, so I can get out and meet like-minded owners. Is there an active Meet community on here for the South East UK/Surrey. I will check.
Who did this - main dealer will probably put factory - indie probably after-market - also there are threads here with pictures of the different headers that may give a clue
It was either Graypaul or Maranello so likely OEM - so it could be the very original or was there a Mkii version? I will contact them anyway soon. No rush, all good.
