What was the problem with Michelotto, if I may ask. I supposed they moved the GTs to Oreca because Michelotto was doing the prototypes.
Michelotto did full R&D on GT race cars including Challenge. They only reason they switched to Oreca for the build: Ferrari earns more money! The higher the commission/net profit, the happier the shareholders 296 Challenge will be outsourced to another third party IIRC Dallara does the Hypercar for Ferrari
a very, very few people know the full picture and not just one side of the story. And non of this people will disclosure any informations given under NDA in a public forum.

Ferrari has been the only manufacture to use the original production chassis for the base of the GT3 car. All the other manufactures use an outsourced chassis built by subcontractors. For example, Lamborghini had Dallara design the GT3 and the chassis is built in Germany. Ferrari is now doing the exact same thing. It makes sense to me
