I plan to replace the leather straps in the trunk of my 360 Modena. Replacing the two strap sets in the rear of the trunk seems straight forward. How do I replace the straps in the front of the trunk.
    Thanks

The front one is way easier than the 2 in on the back. Half of it is just bolted on, the other half riveted. You just have to drill out the rivets like all the other ones.

On my 430 I had to remove the frunk panels because there are aluminum backing plates on the back side of the frunk panels.
I wouldn’t replace the straps with Ferrari straps, they are something like pressed cardboard and complete junk. Go to a shoe or saddle store and have them make new ones out of leather. You can use the old buckles if you want.

It’s really disappointing that such an exclusive and expensive car has this kind of garbage in it.

I have purchased the real leather straps from Two Redbirds and will install them shortly.

I started the process by removing all of the screws securing the left trunk panel. I can’t figure out how to free up the left panel. Any tricks.
    Thanks

If you’re referring to the left side as you look from the rear of the car, there are a couple of donut shaped trim clips that hold it to the front trim piece that you need to remove.

    Thanks very much
    Very helpful
When you refer to the front panel are you talking about the panel closest to the front of the car.

I can’t see these donut clips.
    Any suggestions
Do I just pull the front section of the side panel inward.
I plan to fix the rear leather straps as well as replacing the immobilizer siren/battery

I just noticed that the front strap that holds the tool kit is also failing. The upper strap is held on by screws. The lower one is riveted to the floor of the trunk. If I drill out the rivets how do I secure the new strap to the floor. Can I simply use new rivets. Would screws work.
    Thanks

You'll need to remove the floor panel of the frunk as well as there is a metal plate at the back for the rivets to grip to, like the ones on the back panel for the tyre inflator straps.

Someone had obviously done some work on mine and had actually drilled right through the liner into the floor and riveted the liner to the floor. Very annoying as now I have a couple of holes there. I'm actually in the middle of replacing all the straps in mine using the Two RedBirds ones as well, removed it all last week.

Are you sure the floor needs removal
It seems that I can simply rivet the strap to the floor.
How does one remove the trunk floor

Unless you want to drill holes through the floor, under the liner, then you do have to remove it.

You need to remove all the other liner panels, then it should just lift up with some jiggling towards the back and sides.

Although not a mechanic by trade I am very mechanically inclined. I just can’t see how the floor can be removed unless the entire trunk is disassembled. I suspect that it is fiberglass with the covering glued to it. I am going to try to pop rivet the leather strap to the floor. One of my close friends is one of the best Porsche restorers in the country. I may have him do a consult. Very appreciative for the comments

Solved the front luggage strap problem. I drilled out the holes from 1/8” diameter to 3/16th diameter. I next inserted two black 3/16” wall anchors and problem was solved. It isn’t square because the factory didn’t line up the holes properly. In retrospect I could have used 1/8” rivets because the floor as I discovered is metal but once I enlarged the holes to 3/16” I went with the wall anchors. I could remove the anchors and use 3/16” rivets but for now it is fine. Thanks for all the help.
BTW the faux leather used for the straps and tool kit case is really terrible stuff. Remarkable that Ferrari used this S**T!!

I just drilled out the rivets on the floor and used short self-tapping screws.
