    Doesn't change the fact that Piastri apparently had/has no desire to drive for Alpine, in 2023 or 2024

    WTF. I supposed that Piastri would be willing to sell his mother to get that Alpine seat. What other offers could he have? Maybe he´s just trying to get a better salary.

    Alpine had already agreed to let Piastri act as Macca reserve jockey for 2023.Then Zak says hey you wanna step straight into Ricci shoes mate ?

    So they pay off Ricci and get Piastri for relative peanuts ..not really losing much at all.

    Gasly is the obvious choice.
