Any solution for radio cover that won’t stay closed??

Any solution to the radio cover that won’t stay closed on 599?

I tried to order the small part to fix but it’s no longer available

You mean the dumper? Somebody ought to just take one from a working cover and 3d print them.

Did anyone found a solution for this, I called all part retailers they says it is not produced and cannot be ordered

 

It may have jumped a cog, mine did and my friend fixed it just fine.,

 

Thanks, its either that or remanufacture a tooth with a resin, but in both cases I will have the strip the center console, I will leave this for cold winter weekends

 

As the car is now off the road for the winter I tackled the radio cover issue. It was a jumped tooth on the cog. The process is not complicated, take first tunnel off, then glove box and steering trim and it’s then straight forward if you follow the instruction manual, I struggled most to put back the radio, it’s a snug fit and you fight against cables, in the end I untangled all cables tied them straight and all was good.
Fitting the cog on the left side is well explained in the manual. Turn the cog counterclockwise until block, close the radio cover and insert the cog
