Oh and I have functioning power brakes now unlike in this video [MEDIA]
Nice !! Question , will you be installing some kind of rear valance , or some sort of rear bumper with tail lights, seems that is all that would be left, to kind of tie the car together, just wondering, you may have mentioned it before at some point. G
No additional bodywork, stays lawn chair skeletonized, car is extremely light weight so I’ll take advantage of not having a hot motor but being light for crushing and destroying others merging onto the freeway, the noise I’ll make doing a risky 41mph in a 35 on the lake road. I’m untouchable just as soon as I get insurance. I’m searching for an 80’s F1 tail light if anyone is holding
It’s a test in patience, need to replace the steering rack this weekend, luckily Guy gave me a new rack in NJ when I picked up the engine. The bodywork will be endless so satin black seal coat for now
In Portlandia, the only thing I have come up with to deal with this would be something between Mad Max and demolition derby.
I have to say, your machine does look pretty insane . I do like the idea of something between the tail section and at the back tires mid point . G
Maybe Vin Diesel et al popularized nitrous, but plenty of us were grenading motors with it in the ‘80’s. Personally, I’d wait until the twin turbos are installed, THEN add the nitrous as a charge cooler. Side note: I just realized my Vanagon’s (RIP) straight-through Magnaflow exhaust sounded exactly like half a Ferrari. Seriously…..kick ass build, good luck bringing it home.
It would be cool to show this to the young folks working at Maranello; I bet they’d go bananas for it and understand/celebrate that it takes an American lateral thinker/artist to get this far off the beaten track. John
Chipping away, switched out the rack, it’s a different mount of course so I cut it off and moved it, car is still fighting me but I’ll win eventually…… now onto lighting Oh and I made a steady bar, tiny offset because I’m sick of making everything Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Welp, lights all work, I’m really scraping the barrel to find parts that just kind of work. I ended up finding some old 1933 Ford Fender Brackets And use those for the headlight mounts, still gets another two lights but there it is. The list is getting really small so I may drive it to Redmond town Center on Saturday Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic, but still crying for that bad-ass wing from the original concept drawing (said while running for cover).
Great day of testing, runs pretty good, lots of carb popping still, had it out for about 6 hours today, 78 degrees, no overheating, fans came on after 8 minutes in the coffee stand line, cooled and shut off. Driving with 10” wide front wheels is a different feel. Long way to go and a short time to get there Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fun lil day, brought my son with me, he’s 6’3” so his head pokes out the top. This one’s going back to storage and the DaddyO is back on deck with a bunch of suspension goodies from Nicks Forza Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
