World Sportscar Challenge is this weekend at Road America. This is THE supercar/sportscar racing event at RA this year, second only to the IMSA Lemans car weekend.

Thanks for this. While I'm not into NASCAR I do want to see this spectacle. I'm still sad over the loss of our Olympic city nomination and the loss of the Star Wars museum. So this is a bit of a compensation.
I know what you mean. I have a love hate relationship with Friends of the Parks. They often get lost between the letter of Burnham’s law and the spirit. When Byrne was mayor her people were trying to get either an F1 race or Miami style road race to come to Chicago. Never materialized. Glad we didn’t get the Olympics because that would have meant more of Daley. Star Wars museum would have been a real coup!

I know what you mean. I was working with the city of Chicago back then and was part of the team assembled to work on the INDY car race. I keep expecting to hear news of the FOTP throwing their monkey wrench into the NASCAR event. It seems NASCAR has gotten a bit farther along than Carl Haas and Arnie Morton did back then. Fingers crossed.
Fuelfed Winnetka had rain for about 20 minutes at 0800, wich was bad timing. Still alot of cars showed up. Next month is Ferrari month at Fuelfed Winnetka.
