I feel confident you are basically correct. My experience has been that they "chandelier" pre-auction bids to just under the bidder's maximum, while the actual in-person bidding goes by at lightning speed without any real time given for competing bidders.

That's only if you're one of the first 40 buyers. Each lot of 40 goes up by GBP 100.

I hope they want to produce at least a "Nice Cover One" Edition, because this one is a big no-no for me.

I had to go look at my receipt, bought back in 2019, it was from Hortons. Anyway, more than likely there is my answer; that is the picture of my book that they are using for their current ad description.
The Zero in the “10” looks the same.

That is bizarre. Nathan is on this board, so perhaps he will explain.

Glad it's not a high-dollar book...and apparently not limited, so I'll wait for US availability to cut down on the $40 shipping.

The standard edition will do me just fine.

I would have been surprised if they made the standard version a limited edition like the 250 GTE due to the popularity of the model.

Don't worry though, there will be plenty of limited editions to come.

The style of cover actually reminds me of the Automobila series of individual Ferrari model books from the 80/90's.

I could swear I saw this posted somewhere else around here but I couldn’t find it, so….

Here’s Randy Lanier’s new memoir written with A.J. Baime who’s a very good writer. Although not especially dense in Ferrari content Randy did get his first big break in Preston Henn’s BBLM at Daytona ‘way back in 1982. I was at that race as I was a big fan of IMSA in those days. It was the Wild West for sure. Drug money was really fueling the series and Porsche 935s and Chevy Monzas were thick on the grids. Then the GTP cars became premier and the manufacturers pretty much forced John Bishop to clean up the series. They wanted no association with sketchy team finances and anyway, even drug money couldn't keep up with the manufacturers’ ’ budgets once they really committed to winning.

I expect that the price of the book will come down soon after publication (it was released on August 2) and I do plan to buy it,

By the way, I’m not sure that’s the actual dust jacket, but it’s the only one I could find on the web. It looks too cobbled up to be the final version.
