Had a 355 show up at the shop with 155,000km on the clock. Engine was rebuilt early on..but everything else is as it was when it left the factory. Sticky interior and all. Drivers seat could use some love..but there it is..

Hi Paul! Yes, Kevin is a stand-up guy - a real credit to the Ferrari community. You'll be happy to know he's still racking up the miles!

A lot of folks that don't like to drive their cars are akin to those toy collectors that keep the product in their packaging, heck some go as far as don't even take it out of the shipping box.

That said, to each their own, right? As long as it's their money, and they aren't negatively affecting anybody - more power to them is my thought.

    ***

Now my only critique is a selfish one, I just love seeing these on the road personally, but that's just my own wish - I realize not my time nor money, so ultimately, not my call.

You need to PM this to the OP, he seems to believe that we need to do as he says.

I’m really new to Ferrari ownership. I got my 2011 458 3 weeks ago. It had 9500 miles when I got it. It was an extremely clean car. Serviced exclusively at the Ferrari dealer that sold it to me.

I live in a high rise and keep the car at an exotic car storage place about 10 mins away. I mostly work from home. So far I have taken the car out for about 2 hours every single day. At this rate I am really going to rack up miles, but right now I am having fun with it.

I have plenty of customers who treat thier Ferrari like a pick up truck. To them they are just a car. They buy..drive and throw it away when the next one shows up.

They are the cars with almost zero issues. I have a 430 Scud that comes in with close to 65k km on the clock..I'll bet 50k km is track time. Still on the OE clutch.

Testarossa..owned by a fellow who has a landscaping company. Bags of dirt...rock samples, patio stone are not unusual to find in the frunk..or stilling on the passenger seat. 110k on that on..

Point is..to some..they might aswell be a used Chevy.. to others they a speacial little fairy that needs love and constant care..and polished with a baby diaper

My 330 GTC gets plenty of road time. The SuperAmerica has 18k miles. The 599 has 28k. 458 Spider when I got it last year had 8k...now 11k. The latest the F12 has been my go-to over the last few months. Sadly my BB512 needs more exercise.

    I need help......any takers???

I've always thought that Ferrari should offer a special badge for cars that have done over 100,000 km (62,000 miles) a kind of 'Centomila' award a bit like Mercedes offers to owners of high miles cars that would add to the kudos of the vehicle. That way it would puncture the value bubble of low-use-low-mile Ferraris and bring more into the official retail network and also drive increased service income.

In another thread, @mx1 is claiming that line of sight is determined by your height more than the car. Also, he divulged he took down his rearview mirror.

    Going downhill very quickly.

I tried to explain that SUVs have higher sight lines, but he said a person's height had a more profound effect.

    Then fast follow:

Then he said he took down his rearview mirror because he had installed a camera.

He truly believes a rearview is TOTALLY useless in all other situations outside a parking lot.

He must be a kid or have minimal driving experience.

I am tempted to say "he is a man with a kid's brain", but I have seen kids with more maturity and emotional intellect than the OP, so I don't want to insult those kids.

very general question, and I know there are tons of threads on reliability; in your experience, are 430 scud's as bullet proof as 996/7 GT3s? Was close to going for one, but decided on a GT3 as it's my only car (WFH), and I don't want downtime.

The Scud is a fantastic car..that said I think it would be a bit tiring to use as a daily. It is a very focused car.

That makes way too much sense. Pretty much ensures Ferrari will never do it…
