I bought this car from an older gentleman that was clearing out his home in preparation to move. My intent was to keep it forever, but we all know how that goes. The car was flat bedded to a highly regarded Ferrari shop where it was stored and received all services to bring to a drivable condition. This work included suspension bushings, shock rebuild, full engine belt service along with gaskets, etc.

At this point, I’d consider the car to be a barn find as it is in original 5k mile condition. It’s a dry sump 308GTB Euro Vetroresina with air conditioning. The crazed paint is original as are the leather and tires. The only non-original item I can see is the radio which was installed by the prior owner in the 90’s.

The owner I bought it from had purchased it from the original owner who was an airline pilot in the 70’s. The story goes that he purchased the car at the factory and drove it in Europe while he was assigned there as a cargo pilot. When he returned to the US, he shipped the car back as cargo, so it didn’t get federalized. As such, it doesn’t have cats, an air pump, etc. He held onto it for a few years without driving it until he sold it to the gentleman that I bought it from.

The second owner owned Fiat car dealerships, so he drove the car with dealer plates for the next couple of years. As some point he lost interest and parked the car until it was time for him to retire. That’s when I got wind of it and contacted him. We struck a deal, and I bought the car.

Here are photos I took with my cell phone. If you are serious about buying the car, you’ll probably have many questions. I’ll answer them the best I can, but I suggest that you inspect the car yourself. The car is at a shop here in Northern NJ. They have lifts etc. and are experts in these older Ferraris. I’m sure they’d be accommodating, possibly with a fee for their time.

    The price is $275k.

Interesting car. It's a bit unusual to see a European version car with a speedometer calibrated in miles. Possibly changed by a previous owner?

Where did the Marrone Met FER 800/C sticker come from? That car isn't Marrone.

There's a Glidden Salchi sticker in the photos as well. I think the Marrone sticker was an accident. I see a Marrone 308 in the background of one of the shots.

Oops. That is from another car in the shop. I really like the color so I took a pic of the sticker. Sorry for the mix up.

It's a fantastic color in person on a 308. First Ferrari I ever had a drive in was a 308 in this color.

Your car is fantastic looking, GLWS.

I can delete the Marrone sticker photo if you want.

I'm going through a reshuffling of the stuff I have and have decided I'd rather have this car sold sooner than later. That said, I'm willing to listen to offers. IM me and maybe you'll be surprised.

A very nice early glass, dry sump 308. I had all those bits for my '77 #21039 as well.

Wow, @markcF355, thanks for sharing this time-capsule here, miss my Red/Tan Glass Euro Dry Sump. These are the pinnacle of collectable 308's... I especially love seeing this in its original full Euro trim and tune.
