Why can't I see or post in "owners" forums?

The OF is much ado about nothing. Make the effort, or don't. It's your call. If you don't want to make the effort, don't complain about the rules. They are what they are and they haven't been modified for anybody.

You aren't missing anything, but it's a great place to discuss ownership issues that only owners understand, without the peanut gallery. It's not elitist, nor is it a secret society.

 

Well if that's the case, I have no interest in joining.

I suspect a secret elitist plot might be afoot...

However, by mentioning it, I think I might have just foiled it.

I’m new to FerrariChat, although have followed it for many years. Long time Ferrari owner; two currently in the stable with one soon to be for sale. Just joined FC and am interested in contacting other Ferrari owners in the Tucson area.

Your best bet is to join the Ferrari Club of America,

 

Been members for 17 years. Rocky Mtn. Chapter. Now in Southern AZ, but Phoenix (120 miles each way) is a long way to go to drive to regular dinner/drives/events.
Thought FerrariChat might be another avenue through which to contact other owners.

So far, I’ve gotten “no results” when I put in: “Search - Member List - Advanced Search - Tucson” (also tried Tucson, AZ).
But let me keep working on it - it’s likely something I’m doing wrong.

Now it’s telling me “you do not have permission to view this page or perform this action”.
Still awaiting verification as an owner - and a newbie on the site, so I’ll figure it out. Sigh. Appreciate the help.
Found forums open for regional areas AZ and NM - will try there and hopefully not pester anyone.

 

The search instructions referenced above are out of date. The site used to have forum software that kept member lists and allowed you to search on profile fields such as location. That's no longer the case.

The best way to find members near you now is to 1) search for combinations of words that might be successful, and 2) monitor your regional forum for C&C or other event/meet activity and see who's getting together. As an example I searched for the combination of "Tucson home" and found a few members taking about getting their car home to Tucson.

I’d guess there will be a few events in Scottsdale in January around the auctions. Drive up, spend the night, see some cars, meet some people. Hell, I might even be there!
