The Purosangue Thread

Ferrari made It's a legal matter by going to court because they would not give/sell it to Ferrari. so there are full public records related to this. Just like who owners the rights is on public record. The fact no changes has been made public by the media etc means the status quo has not changed aka nothing new to report. The only other option is if they have come to a private agreement and agreed to not make it public aka post dated the new contact. But given they said no and then Ferrari took them to court I can't see them being interested in that.

 

Combination Lusso SUV F12 SF90 usable rear seats add insane sounds / performance and GVWR for tax purposes - what is there not to love for the Ferrari customer. Owned 612 and FF both never made any sense and were short term ownership.
If you do some fun calculating it's pretty limited and will have high demand - 18 month no sale speaks volumes about the V12 version and why it should do well.

 

We know PS will have 48V architecture for its suspension but what are F250 and F244 that require 800V architecture?
One of them is probably an electric SUV but what is the other one? (F250)

Agreed. I can't think of a better, more appropriate name for this car. Hopefully Ferrari will stick to it.

Sorry, but the name,well, let’s put it this way: The name should be changed to protect the guilty…Why don’t they just give it a number and letter designation like F4XR? Purosangue rolls off the tongue like you have marbles in your mouth. Ferrari…PLEASE DONT DO IT!

Purosangue translated into English is Ugly Horse

 

In spanish "Purasangre" means a very refined and powerful racehorse, so I think it's an appropriate name

purosangue = thoroughbred, pure bred horses known for their speed and racing prowess. You can argue if Ferrari F1 is still known for the latter, but they'd be crazy to change it at this late date.

My wife is Italian and she thinks it is a dumb name for a Ferrari from an English language perspective, just as I’m sure the Italians dislike “super fast” etc. it’s almost as bad as Murcielago(pardons to the Lambo fans out there)

you are right some funny stories so far...

remember all the restaurants named Fera? ask a japanese what it means, and it was the same the other way around with the Mitsubishi SUV named Pajero. a no go for the spanish market...

we had "Fuze" Tea which means "lady garden" in our country and recently I received an investor deck from a spanish company named "the fick company" .

nevertheless, I think Purosangue fits the new big horse very well. Pronounce it correctand it sounds already powerful! Can't wait to see it in real on the 13th.

I like when Italian cars have the instruments in Italian. The rest of the world had to learn English so American tourists don´t feel intimidated so you could make the effort of learning what means "benzina" and a few other words, like "purosangue".

Having said that, Purosangue is a bad name not because how it sounds but because this is the least "pure" Ferrari ever made.

 

I'm still not 100% sure the name Purosangue is staying, maybe it's just an adjective they're using before the actual model name is revealed. IMO they're being deliberately ambiguous.

If it stays, well... not that bad name after all this time, sure we've warmed up to it.

Everything evolves but for this car the surprise factor is close to zero, we know what it will look like 95% and we know the name also... or do we?
