Ha yeah, unfortunately it's a german horse (taken from the coat of arms of hanover apparently!) instead of an italian horse - but i liked that touch too!

Mine just got delivered today. I’ll install it tomorrow.

Had the Bluetooth module from discount car audio installed with the stock unit but was getting engine whine through the unit. Going this route instead now. Will see how it sounds.

Installed mine today. Went in easy. Shocked at how much better this system sounds compared to my stock Becker unit. The new unit is also much more shallow than the Becker (see pic). Have to pair your phone to the unit before you can see the A2DP as a source. Happy with the “upgrade.”

Anyone with HiFi option should also swap to the Scuderia audio super amp to have their mind blown.

Install tip: Remove the new radio from the bracket. Securely install the bracket first before sliding radio back into the bracket. For those who may not know, those triangular shaped cutouts on the bracket are bendable tabs to keep the bracket secure. Also, you may have to clip some zip ties under the dash to free up the speaker/radio wires.

So I'm curious how does it stay in place. Does it snap into place and how is it removed. Thanks for the info

I just pushed the whole thing in with the bracket still on the unit. It was a tight fit, so just went slow. No issues here.

Yes, tight fit and as jerbear said you can push the unit in place with bracket attached...no problems. I preferred to use the bracket as intended with the tabs. The photo shows the radio (red), bracket (blue) and tabs circled in green. Once the bracket is installed the radio will snap into the bracket.

The radio comes with two removal keys (similar to the keys that came with the Becker radio). It has a somewhat different mechanism to release the radio but similar. Stick the keys in and pull out the radio.

Amazing what the advancements in IC's has done to reduce the size of a unit and simultaneously improve the audio quality

This looks like a very nice unit

    No GPS unfortunately

The reason the new head units are more shallow is because they don't have to accommodate a CD.

So, does anyone know what speakers would match up good to this particular unit without getting into changing out the amp?

arh... where would one find the keys for the Becker radio? Can you use a thin screwdriver to release the tabs ?

While I recommend the correct tools, there are videos on YouTube for the Porsche Becker (same setup as the Ferrari) on how to do it using the nail file with a hook that is on most smaller nail clippers.
