    He had a fair bit of time before he rolled. Are zero zero seats the norm for Russia? I was just wondering if he wasn't high enough to get out or was he trying to save the airplane?

    The commentary on the video suggests they collided. At 1:11 in the video they freeze the frame and point to what appears to be a structural failure of the outer wing. That would definitely induce the left roll.
