The 430 of course would be more modern looking which replaced the outgoing 360. Just like the 458 to 430 side by side would show the same. It’s the value to dollar spent. Both the 360 and 430 will retain value in the future. If the 360 manual grows in price so will the F1 in both models. I will have both a 360 and 430 at some point.

Ditto here. I think the best combo is a scud and a gated 360 in the garage.

That’s a 200k car. I am sure many of us would want that… The 360 & 430 are the only modern era Ferrari’s with a manual option. These will end up like the 6-speed Supra’s over time and the autos went up in value keeping the same price gap. Classic Ferrari’s will be sought after the deeper we get into the electric era.

Yes. Have a customer of mine who has the leaking cam covers on his 488. 21k he was quoted from the dealer.

Unfortunately I had to tell him I'm not interested in doing the job. Just not worth it.
I just fixed a timing cover leak in his 458 earlier this year. These cars are really starting to show thier true colors. People will simply not put up with this crap for much longer.

996 is garbage. Not even a comparison to a 360 to 430. The 997 is ten time better than the 991 and possibly even the new ones.

Comparing these cars is silly especially since the 430 copied so much of the 360. The 355 is the 993 of Ferrari. I think the 488 could end up the 997 of Ferrari. I’m not a 458 fan. Those that jumped from 430 to 458 are just chasing the newest thing they can afford after building equity.

I truely believe the F430 will be regarded as perhaps the best of the mass produced Ferrari's. It's a great car..reasonable to own..damn reliable once sorted..very usable, and a joy to drive. Has the perfect amount of power you can actually use and enjoy.

The 360 is NOT garbage. They are a wonderful car. But I have always felt it was rushed to market before the bugs were worked out of it.

I actually think the problem is that they were blind sided by all of the regulations that were put in place around the year 2000. I've seen a copy of the original drawing for the 360 dated 1993. So they were working on the 360 for a long time and my assumption is that they had a certain idea for the 360 (that was going to be a beast) but that they ended up having to change because of those regs. Of course I could be dead wrong about this but I think the car that Chris Harris got to review in 1999, that was much faster and sounded much more race car like, was what the 360 was supposed to be. It would be nice to find that car.

As someone who has driven hundreds of 911s of every flavor - the 996 is most definitely not garbage. I’d take a facelift 996 over it’s equivalent 997.1 any day of the week. One of the greatest 911s I’ve ever driven was the 996 GT3 RS. I’d rather have that car than a 997 RS 4.0. I am not a fan of the 991 either. The 992, however, is in a league of its own.

Agree. The car was missing something. Just seems unfinished. I have always said..the f430 is exactly what the 360 should have been out of the gate..

I think a few 360's, that were built as the 360 was originally intended, leaked out. Here is a clip of Matt Farah talking about a 360 that was extra hot. Clips starts at 7 minutes. I hoped to find one of these in the wild but have not been able to. If anybody knows of any of these cars please chime in. I should also mention I like the 360 better.

Might not be popular with this post but market in time will appreciate the 360 for the modern masterpiece it was.... the fact that pot shots are taken at it is simply tall poppy syndrome lol! :D

The F430 looks like a hot mess from behind - is it an Enzo or a 360? Make up your mind. The steering wheel was the first with the gameboy era of switches (dated) and the tops of them look bent! The 4 valve engine is dull as hell sounding and the dash looks like a local base rental. Most are F1's so choice of trans is very limited and on the wrong side of history.....etc

    Anyway...sorry 430 owners. :)

The 360 has the best rear, bar none. No styling embellishments (any kid could doodle that classic wedge), a beautiful sounding 5V engine and a dash that pays homage to classic Fazza's with the circular binnacle and contoured top.

Add that it's the first all alloy, first see thru glass engine cover for production (Not counting an F40) and still looks better than enything made since, I think the writings on the wall. Even Dino's were frowned upon once.

The 360 will have the last laugh.;)

+1, personally i don’t feel the “click” with the F430, you can see it has the same base and its a super nice car, but lines are lost, the rear is a mess, intakes are forgotten in the design and put on later so it seems to me.

Do not understand why comparing to Porsche… totally different car.

I never drove an F430 but i would understand if it drives better, newer tech. But if comes to looks, the 360 is the absolute winner for me.

That's mad, cam covers are a common problem as well, just had mine done, no doubt there will be a lot of 458 owners driving around getting a whiff of oil at every junction!

    Messy rear end...eh?

Don't get it. I do find people that own a 360 tend to like the 360 (until they change to a 430) and people who have a 430 like the 430.

The 430 also paid homage to some great Ferrari cars which I like, Enzo rear lights, Testarrosa Mirrors, 156 front, oh and noise wise just get some race headers and they sound amazing!

I think the Porsche comparison was spot on:

996 = 360, I mean headlights complete new softer edged design, quicker, interior refresh and Porsche had to move the game on.
997 = 430, put the things that where wrong right.

While I think the 360 is a great looking car the F430 just looks perfect to my eyes. The interior and engine look to me was a huge step up in the F430. That’s why my first Ferrari was a F430. The 458 looks never really grew on me and felt a little to refine for my fun car. With that being said I intend to add a 360 in the future, preferably a manual.
