Aside from the V12 (which is not unique in this market) I don't see anything that moves the SUV needle other than the cost.

If you really need an SUV other models are much more practical.

Ferrari needed a car that can be a daily driver

I know for their "points system" for getting invited to by the special edition cars.... they monitor what cars their clients collect not just by what you have... but also by your service records. They want you driving a Ferrari every day, even if you have an Enzo that hasn't left the garage in years.

The only reason I can see is as we age getting in and out of small sports cars gets harder and harder...and we love Ferrari so much that is all we want to drive.

I don't have a problem with them making it. It just doesn't really shout "wow" to me.

Like "wow!". Ferrari really nailed this one! Porsche must be shaking in their boots!

    .....Mmmm. I don't think so.

I don't think anybody ever doubted that (Ferrari themselves included). But that doesn't make it less stupid as a model.

The interior of the car is a positive surprise at its quite unique, although I'm wary the amount of screens both standalone and on control surfaces with lessen the perceived quality.

What is most surprising in my opinion, is that the car has no signature breakthrough technology to mark Ferrari entering a new market. All the tech on the car is carry over from existing platforms. Electronically mechanically controlled dampers are not new technology, even though Ferrari claims the 48V system will give unprecedented responsiveness.

I hate the touch buttons on the steering wheel. Hate them on the Roma and 296 also.

Maybe they don't want to risk with more potential problems, risking the good impression of their new customers?

I'm surprised they didn't go with an all glass cockpit like Merc is doing. Having 2 separate screens for driver and passenger will seem really old fashioned really soon.

Probably needs its own thread but there is a psychological demographic for this model just like there is for every other model sold. It has nothing to do with a point, profit, performance, etc.

Women don't buy Birkin bags because they have a point, a purpose or are in anyway better than the other million purses out there. Doesn't matter if its a luxury bag, watch, an econobox or a Purosangue the emotion behind it is all the same.

I have a Corvette C8. Its one of the easiest sports cars ever made to get in and out of. GM knows its "aging" market.

One good thing about this car.

It will be a depreciation monster. If you want one just wait a year. You'll get one with 3000 miles on it at a 30% discount.

We are not going to tell a story of children, Ferrari produced the PS because they bet on new customers and the SUV market, with the sole objective of RACE.
The rest is children's and marketing stories and they don't care that you use it to hang the laundry !

I mean... I just don't get the idea of "an everyday Ferrari".

Its like saying you want to eat Beluga Caviar with every meal. Can you? Yes. Does it make you happy over time? No.

You can't take this thing offroad. The ground clearance is too low for floods. You'll be afraid of taking it in snow. It only holds 4 people. The boot looks too small to go to Costco. You have to send it to a dealer maybe a hundred miles away and wait weeks for it being fixed for the smallest thing --- and imagine the costs of keeping it up after the warranty is gone.

Just get a new Jeep every year and you'll be ahead financially.
