All big cars look terrible in bright colors.... Bright colors are for little sport cars Big SUV's need to be black, white, grey, dark blue, etc. I wouldn't call this an SUV though.... it's a sport wagon like the porsche taycan sport turismo
Sorry if I offend you, but let's just say I place more credibility on the 'lies' of Detlev von Platen over a couple of dudes on the internet. "The Cayenne has always been a major draw for our brand - it has brought many new customers and fans from all over the world to Porsche over the past 20 years, It quickly became clear to the management that the legendary 911 and the new mid-engined model alone would not be able to lead the company into a secure future. Plans for a 'third Porsche' began to take shape." -Detlev von Platen Executive Board Member Porsche I mean why is this even in the debate? Just look at the sales figures good god. Can I say definitively that Porsche would "go out of business" if they only sold the 911 and Boxster? No But they definitely wouldn't have much money to build the Carerra GT and 918. Or say all the crazy variations of the 911/718. Ever heard of something called Formula 1?
I think colors are a personal choice for example I think the red launch car looks much better than the grey there are lots of reds and many other colors . So i would obviously disagree with your rule of colors everyone should get what ever color they like… I don't know that i would get this car in red but definitely not in grey but everyone gets to pick the colors. For their cars.. especially at the prices of these cars.but i might pick a red..
the design where the fenders connect to the body is strange. bugs me the more I look at it. Don't love it, definitely don't hate it... BUT INFINITELY better than the stupid Urus. and there are 10,000 urus rolling around the streets of LA so I'll plan on seeing a lot of these things. Anything other than the Urus.
Agreed. Say what you want but I think it's awesome they put a NA v12 that revs more than 8k in a SUV/Sport Wagon/FUV/Whatever.
Porsche also did the 959 Dakar, a proper SUV, CX-T and Nomad are also for me pure SUVs, not "Chelsea Tractors". I'd much rather have these than an "uplifted station wagon" with a Porsche/Lamborghini/Ferrari badge.
Could anyone post the media (super high/print res) pics of the car in the not-dark background? Thank you!
Suicide doors are sick! [emoji2] Now all it needs a lift kit and Mickey Thompson tires and it'll be perfect! T
This ain't a truck, but no argument on the chuckle-inducing 6.5 L V12. Can't wait to see one of these being driven with a full head of steam...T
I can't speak for buyers mindsets, but if you look at the suspect quality standard the customer receives when buying a Ferrari the badge (image, lifestyle, look of the vehicle, driving experience, individualization, ownership experience, active resale market, etc.) does drive sales. The car is sufficiently differentiated from other SUVs. People gotta have their SUV, I don't understand but it's reality.
That doesn´t contradict anything I´ve said: now they´re making A LOT more money, but they were already making money before. Check the newspapers of that era and you would find Wendelin Wiedekin constantly bragging about his profits. Also, what did you expect that someone from the board of Porsche would say: "yes, these things are ugly as sin but now we can sell cars to people who doesn´t give a **** about cars too". Anyway: as I´ve said, it´s legitimate that they wanted to make money, and part of that money went to interesting things. But the Cayenne is not the kind of car that makes a brand legendary and I seriously doubt that in the future it will be in teenagers´posters. So, as this is a forum about car enthusiasm, not about product and marketing, I think we can afford to despise it a bit. P.S: I don´t like the fried egg 911s either.

It's a brand play. A car people can drive every day and say they drive a Ferrari. There is no better brand in the world than Ferrari. Selling out? Absolutely. Pointless? No.
Whoever thought up that ridiculous name, should be sent to get drug tested, he is obviously smoking cocaine in between his shifts !! Good grief, could it get any worse over at Ferrari !! lol Big G
My wife said pretty much the same thing. Meh to FUV, Yay to Urus. Have the dimensions of this car been published? To my eye, it looks more like a Macan or Aston Martin DBX size-wise...T
Image Unavailable, Please Login Same width as Urus. Shorter by 16.4 cm length. Slightly lower. Reference for Lusso is 48 inches plus minus Image Unavailable, Please Login Creates a problem if it’s below a lift. My lusso can. My ps won’t. My wife’s loves the lusso and said she would take this allocation from me and o could keep the lusso. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This car is brilliant, they knocked it out of the park. I’m not really a SUV fan but I’m not afraid to say it, they did this one properly. It’s the best job anybody has done, in particular the styling. Aston, Bentley, Rolls, Lambo, all ugly. This just isn’t. The end. It’ll sell all day and twice on Sunday and this forum knows it whatever is written. Flicking through the comments on YouTube videos they are all positive, can hardly find even a mediocre one. Some interesting features but the looks are bang on. Add the V12 and it’s as certain to be a success as can be.
