Quite off-topic but it is interesting "how" he circumvented? the profanity filter? It was in big bold red font. It hurt the yes just by looking at it. I would be even more amazed by this strange behaviour only if he put literally the full curse words in the text. PS The filters can be easily fixed. Not sure if it's wise to encourage people to use curse words. Even to think in curse words ...
Its a case of be open, be honest BUT always be respectful of others. While remembering we all come from different places English is not everyone's first language. Meaning it can be very easy to misinterpret someone's comment or meaning behind it. Basically it thinks you are trying to hide or avoid something you said being flagged by the system, when in fact by doing so you cause a flag in the system anyway. Where a Curse word will register correctly under profanity. Which in most cases is actually not a major concern, unless it was with malicious intent.
Yeah. Let's just move on to the actual topic. Someone here mentioned 2024 reveal, and Ferrari LMh car will be revealed probably in 2023? I wonder how Ferrari LMh prototype will be related to Ferrari next hypercar and vice versa?
NA V10 for me. How I wish ferrari made a V10 back then since the v10 era of F1. Oh well we'll see if they can make such a compact screaming v10 engines then but I don't think it will happen to be honest as ferrari as a company and brand always have v12 in their DNA
They have stated time and again that the LaFerrari replacement won't have anything to do with the WEC racer. They might share some technologies though.
You mean chassis will not have anything to do with their LMH. And that was actually part of the question I have opened above. So I wonder where did all the beautiful plans of a LM hypercars category based on road 'hypercars' go?
Those plans for basing the race cars on road versions were scrapped. The LeMans Hypercars are pure prototypes now, just like the Peugeot 9X8: Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 9X8 is quite unique with its 'we need no wing' approach, which makes them very recognizable. But anyway, there are only few manufacturers in that cat. Ferrari LMh mule looks more generic, like any other prototype. Have no idea what they can "transfer" from LMH besides hybrid system maybe? And that might promote a V6 but not necessarily hm. Ferrari can say "we won't give you a V12 nor V8, but ... we will give you LMh tech instead, and shut up be happy with that "
// a bit astray from the main topic, but "at least they try" something. and of course Peugeot just debuted halfway this year (not sure about details) against better estabilished rivals. BTW, SCG will not take part in the last 2 races so even less manufacturers represent the hyper LM class. For the last two or even 3 years now, I have not been watching better racing than MotoGP. // Quite disappointed that new Ferrari 'road' hypercar will not materialize in 2023. We need something to breathe again after Purosangue
Based off a couple of questions I asked on another thread and a discuss I've had today. It now seem most likely the Halo will be V8 based. The V12 is pretty much just for the PS, the Icona's and completing The 812C/812CA etc orders now. As for the 812 replacements engine its still up in the air apart for those in the know. But can't say a V12 is looking likely now. Welcome to the Eco Generation.....
Tiny V6 sounds like a vacuum cleaner, it needs to be NA and big displacement, revving at over 10 000 RPM.
I am sorry, but as you saw, I expressed my anger towards the garbage electric trend, not towards a fellow poster. I hate that electric trend will every fiber of my body and will be gutted if Ferrari ever goes full electric.
A V10 was never on Ferrari's road going radar. Anyway, Johnny boy, you have expressed your views. No need to sound like a broken record, saying the same things on a weekly basis.
many SP3s and even some 812GTS to complete as well... As for the F167, without a V12, what is it? We already have a Roma and Portofino, what is the point if not a V12...or, are you saying F167 will never happen? Does not make sense for the F167 to be an "entry level" model...and, I believe the successors to the Roma/Portofino will be hybrids...
The F167 will be V12. It has already been said by very credible sources here on FChat, besides that there are spy videos that you can easily identify the V12 sound.
People said the sound from the PS last year wasn't a V12 in some of the video's and the fact is it will only have a V12 until it goes full EV. As for the F167 I have been following the replacement thread and have not seen V12 confirmed most seem unsure. The only chance I see is that they will use the updated version from the SP3 in her as the current V12 is basically at its limited and it's unlikely Ferrari will make a brand new V12 design. Which is one of the reasons It looking like the Halo will be V8 based as there is pretty much nothing left to give from the current V12. Time will tell but would be nice if at least the F167 had the SP3 V12 so that model can go out in style. I would also love the Halo to be V12 based one last time too but time will tell. This Eco generation doesn't seem to be taking many prisoners. Had they started with some of the bigger offenders like aircraft specially private jets cars may have got another 10 years. just my 2 cents
This video leaves no doubt that it is V12. About the capacity of the F140, Ferrari has the technology for it. A slightly reworked F140 from SP3, running at around 9,700 rpm, plus some improvements, can take the F167 to around 860 hp. It would be ~60 hp more than the 812 Superfast, its real predecessor. A slight weight reduction, and evolutionary technology improvements would take the F167 to an impressive level of performance and dynamics. In fact, the 812 Superfast is already out of this world in terms of performance. N/A and front-mid engine runs Fiorano along with the 488 Pista (1:21.50 both!), and the Pista was presented later, with turbo, rear-mid engine, and is a stripped down model with ~250 kg less than the 812SF. About the "electric lobby", I believe that this is just a hallucination on a global level. This "2030-35 talk", IMO is just a big bluff. I don't see it working! And I really hope it doesn't. I believe that the rules of the "electric lobby" imposed and forced on brands will have to be changed, because this madness will not work. The car brand that fully embarks on this will suffer huge losses in the near future when the real results of this come. Ferrari after announcing that the Purosangue would be V12 aspirated, the reserves went up like a rocket! I see that this success can make management, as well as shareholders, stop and rethink the strategy. Viva il motore aspirato!
I have seen that video and I would agree that's sound like a V12. But why would you go to all that work to stretch a roma, while also making it stick out like a sore thumb then they could test the V12 in a 812 and no one would be the wiser ? Plus the replacement is an evolution of the 812. The Roma was built and designed for a V8 all seems a little backwards and a lot of extra work.
I believe they used the stretched Roma as a mule base, because the F167 will use the new architecture that debuted in Roma, which also allows the use of V12 and/or hybridization (the F12/812 architecture does not support hybrid), and the F167 was going to be a hybrid, and then Ferrari gave up, and opted only for the pure V12 N/A.
