Allocations for the PS seemed targeted at first, and then they started using them as rewards for ordering multiple Ferraris. We have a customer at work, who's Ferrari purchase history amounts to 1 car before 2022. Earlier in 2022 he ordered an SF90 and a 296 GTB and was offered a PS slot on the spot.

This is an excellent video showing why the Purosangue was designed and executed to be a sports car first.

But what Ferrari really have done, is take the layout from the FF / GTC4, made it a foot taller and 300kg+ heavier. Their is absolute zero innovation in this car / truck.

I largely agree, but I thought the suspension and handling systems had some new tech...T

I cant agree with you. They made huge innovation by finally designing highly desirable 4-seater. If we put Purosangue in SUV category, currently it is most beautiful and most powerful vehicle in its category - maybe you are not aware, but that is not easy task.

P.S. In last 30 years Ferrari 4-seaters were seen as Ferrari`s tool to push people to buy ugly (4-seater) Ferrari so you can get desirable or limited model.

Looks are always purely subjective. I personally think this Ferrari truck looks like a a generic box on wheels with a Roma front and 296 rear grafted on. Take the badges off, and drive it around any city and nobody would know its not a new KIA or Hyundai crossover.

Building any car is no easy task. But Ferrari have just brought over existing engineering and technology from the FF / GTC4 they had for a long time.

Just because an object seems desirable, doesn't automatically make it good.

PS. I would be willing to bet the Porsche Cayenne GT Turbo will be faster around the Nürburgring ( current holder of the SUV lap record at 7:38.92 - for context Ferrari 812 Superfast -
7:27.48). Ferrari say they will not be setting a Ring time with this truck, wonder why? It might be the most powerful, but its very unlikely its the fastest or most capable, so the soccer mums most likely wont have that bragging right at the school gates.

regardless of it being "true" Ferrari or not,
i just don't like nor understand why do people still call it a "truck".
Enlighten me, aren't trucks body on frame
whereas cars and even most of modern small to mid size SUV monocoque (unibody)?

I suspect that "truck" is being used derisively when applied to the PS on F-chat...T

And you find that as something unusal? That is called manufacturing process - you develop individual parts that you are using to build various models. And Ferrari is manufacturer, like any other in car industry. Nothing more, nothing less.

Your point is not valid. Whole point of high-value car manufacturing is to produce desirable object. And that is specifically important for Ferrari.

I can agree on this. Porsche is master when it comes to driving dynamics and track performance. That is their strong field for decades. They even present slower numbers on tech specs compared to one you get when you drive the car on track.

This.. Folks have become delusional by all this nonsense marketing as to what a sports car is. Ferrari also always "lie" about the true weights of their cars, i bet this truck is 2400kg with fluids and some fuel and spec'd with its fancy glass roof etc

I didn't think my 456M was ugly, but the rear seats were just ornamental. The more I see of the Purosangue the more I like it.

You said they made a huge innovation. All they have done is put there existing tech into a taller and heavier vehicle, which will make the real world performance and driving characteristic's worse, its basic physics.

Terminology is always a fun topic.
I work in Biotech and you would be amazed how many ways the same thing can be described in a single paragraph.
To me anything taller/more ground clearance that a Subaru Outback (let's say based on the GT Wagon) or an Audi Allroad is an SUV.
The market is so niched out now with terms like CUV and Crossover, but at the end of the day they sit in the broad SUV bucket.
Frame on or not I hear the term truck commonly used (especially when folks refer to and X5).
I recently had a ride in a Lyft and I referred to the service as an Uber (think Kleenex) and the driver said he didn't work for Uber, I get it but the term is pretty generic at this point.

Considering one hydraulic shock on Maclaren is 10-15k after install..I would assume close to that number..people are stupid..

The truck is geared towards fools who only know one thing..the business that generated the income to afford the truck.

They know nothing about anything car wise. Anybody with any understanding or knowledge of cars..even a small amount would understand what this stupid thing is...a cash grab. They want it because their neighbor doesn't have it. It's ****** swinging contest.

This stupid peice of crap is nothing but a play on the wealthy brain damaged fool who doesn't know any better. Ferrari knows this..and capitalizes on it..good for them.
