Drove 25 miles with my son to Cars and Coffee in a small but wealthy beach community. Some nice antique cars in pristine condition A great drive with my son under the shade of oak canopies with the top off the 328. Not sure which I enjoyed more My son was there to enjoy both.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Picked up my 308 at Automotive International in Charlotte Saturday morning. (Thanks again to Peter and the team for swapping out the fuse box and caring for her over the past 7 years) and headed to my new home in Yulle. 4 and 1/2 pretty uneventful hours later and I was home. 1 tank of gas for the entire trip….gassed up at the last Georgia exit to take advantage of the cheaper gas. I think I was getting about 25-27MPG at a constant 80. Not too bad for a 44 year old gar with 86K miles on it! No rain, until I hit my exit in Florida and it lasted just a minute as the rain moved west to east. She is now all snuggled up with her cousin in the garage waiting for her next adventure.
I appreciated my 308 gtb today. I haven’t driven my 308 in a while. It’s the car I drive the least. I don’t know why it is but it just is. Today I pulled the cover off and turned the engine over. Oh that high revving v8 got me again. Every time I take the 308 out I fall in love again but I don’t know why I forget how good this car is. I have the xdr ignition box that has the car revving to 9000 rpms with power throughout. It sounds so great to match the power band. Simply love it. I just need to appreciate more the experience. Thank you 308 for being such a great car
Having noted the damage to my ac radiator (condenser) when polishing the front spoiler I decided a new one was rather expensive and set to sorting it out. Using a jeweller’s screwdriver and taking my time, 2 hrs later I had straightened out most of what had been some pretty significant impact damage and removed endless small stones and insects. Not wanting to do this again, I then fit some black mesh to the back of the aluminium (I’m English) grille to protect the condenser from most stones and job done. Yesterday i did the flasher update for LED's. I owe thanks to Richard for the conversion details. For some reason the seat belt buzzer no longer buzzes. Also I'm pretty sure that when my emergency flashers were on the directional indicators also blinked. They do not now. Today I'm tracing thru the wiring diagram. The answer is in there somewhere. If anyone has an idea, I'm all ears.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And a manual, I believe. A beauty, and highly sought after. The F430 was one of my first "close" introductions to Ferrari and I've been partial to them ever since. I love the F430 is embedded in the side-view mirror. Years back when I first saw one at a Ferrari dealer here in SoCal it was the first thing I noticed. Funny how little details like this stick with one forever.
Intake manifolds' gasket replacement. And some other surprises we have been discovering. More photos will come Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Remember, for LED conversion.... Keep the "filament bulb" in the red generator housing. Do not put an LED there.
Ya know, I didn't take one, had I realized the difference would be this dramatic, I certainly would have. This is the closest I've got, the top/before shot is a month or 2 ago, the after shot is right now. There was hazing and scratches across the whole window. I was wondering if there was any way to replace it with something better. This really made a significant difference. Scratches are barely evident now. Trying to get a like for like shot, this thing is hard to photograph Image Unavailable, Please Login
Noticed this morning that the passenger heat vent did not have the same volume of air exiting as the driver side had. Turned out that the flexible conduit had slipped off the plastic mating part in the vicinity of the driver side headlight. Passenger air flow is normal now. If this happens again, I'll put a large hose clamp on it.
I did not notice that, but it explains all the 308/328 posts! ☺️ Saw it on new posts, thought it was an amazing thread and jumped in. Thank you for highlighting, I will go back to being a passive admirer!

Peter, Those look fantastic. Was actually just thinking about a set for my GTS. Who did you purchase through?
Ordered them through NTM, they are 7 1/2" fronts and 8 1/2" rears x 16's. Tires are the Firestone Indy 500's 205 55's and 225 50's. Couldn't be happier, ordered them beginning of July, received them beginning of October, worth the wait.
Got up early to drive up to Bear Mountain area north of NYC. Beautiful day and fall foliage in full effect, top off. Car is running beautifully and had the roads almost all to myself. Yes, I've got a seriously drooping left mirror that I need to tighten. Mileage when I got home was 49,957. Next trip out will break 50k Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
