Maurizio Arrivabene said it best when he was TP: " Everyone is scared to make a decision." That was the culture then and it's currently the culture now.
You only have to spend a few days in Italy, or have Italian friends to understand: Ferrari is a national treasure, and rightly so. (Tell any of your Italian friends you own a Ferrari? Then you are a superman of some sort, even more than this: you are "someone who knows", a "cognoscenti"; I know, just had lunch today with some Italian friends...); Trouble is that every Italian, then, and I mean each and everyone of the 60 millions of them, has an opinion about what Ferrari should do, should not do, etc... Every race is discussed, commented, etc...as if it was then end of the world. The pressure of the press is immense; the shenaningans, treasons, double-cross are constant... Ferrari really needs to be protected from Italy, even if Ferrari is Italy, and Italy, to some extent, is Ferrari. Not easy. BUT: that being say and 'toutes choses étant égales par ailleurs" (more or less "every other thing notwhistanding") they need a reshuffle NOW, and they need it BADLY. Otherwise Leclerc will be lost, or depart, and they will be back to square one. Rgds
What a debacle of a race for Ferrari, they were lucky to get a podium with Leclerc. I genuinely believe that Ferrari is the only team that would able not to win a race while being the only two cars on the track. Max and Red Bull are in a different league at the moment, but Ferrari is doing everything they can to help them
Ricciardo takes a year off of F1 and returns to F1 in 2024. In the meantime, Ricciardo becomes reserve driver for MercedesAMGF1 (2023).
I would think that either Nyck de Vries, or Stoffel Vandoorne would be a better choice. They are also linked with Mercedes already.
Here's Ricciardo saying it to Perez. No mic's under their noses so Ric probably didn't know. I hope he'll do indy for a season or maybe even NASCAR, since he's a big fan of the latter (#3 was chosen because of Dale Earnhardt) F1 in the 2010's on Twitter: "Noooo... In this case Haas will not sign him, who will complete Haas and Williams driver line ups in 2023? Source: F1Wow https://t.co/VDSSWStfhn" / Twitter
He’s not so full of jokes and stupidity like normal. It’s always confounding to see some act as if it doesn’t matter how they perform… that they’re locked in or something. I think all the stupid “look at me” behavior just got a dose of reality. Unfortunately too late to start taking your job seriously. … but sure… blame the dirt Ric… blame the dirt. What was the issue during the race as your teammate finished in the top ten while you’re being lapped… more dirt on the track?
Autosport.com: “Ricciardo open to year out of F1 to ‘take two steps forward in 2024’.” “Now, some may say I’m a dreamer….but I’m not the only one….” /Lennon voice
Oh funny lol. Roll eyes lol. What is his name Latifi now LOL. Id take him over unknowns currently with lots of hype and Twitter messages tossed out to major teams. If Piastri fails he will have had the shortest career in F1. He has done zero. Ricci is not the worst risk out there at all.
You could say the same about anyone entering F1; what happened before doesn't count. F3, F2 are just steps to get the Superlicense, which is like an entry exam to get to University. Piastri will have everything to prove, like Norris and Russell did recently. Remember the year Hamilton landed in F1?
Truth is he’s toasted. And I am sure he doesn’t know why himself.. Remember the Alguersuari comeback. ( never happened)
I don't think Alguersuari ever wanted to come back. He seems happier now doing something else. Have you seen some of the comments he made recently concerning the Red Bull Academy and Helmut Marko?
Ricciardo could perhaps have tried to stay in F1, had he offered to drive for a lesser team and take a massive pay cut. Look how long Kimi managed to stay in F1 underperforming constantly.
