They don't have a choice since there isn't a title sponsor, but a myriad of small sponsors which all want their name on the car!
They've(Mclaren) adopted the Force India approach with regards to sponsors. Williams(the original family) not so much.
The Marlboro or West liveries weren't McLaren identity either: those were Marlboro or West identity. At least now they have some orange (although they have reduced so much weight that there is not much left).
Orange papaya was the original McLaren livery when they started in F1, becoming famous with their CanAm success. Orange is in fact The Netherlands racing colours, seen many years ago on the private Porsches of Carel Godin de Beaufort and Ben Pon.

Mods, can we update the emojis I was thinking some clown faces, one showing resignation to defeat, and the face of impending doom. Maybe for next year the image of a small shoot of hope peeking up through cracked soil, then one of it being ground into the dirt for use in spring ? I will leave it to the are department. Note: Ones showing trophies, cups, laurel wreaths etc are unlikely to be required
@Booker Add to that(emoji's): 1) emoji banging his face against the wall. 2) shoulder shrug emoji. 3) emoji with a red F1 car zinging back and forth coming at you. 4) emoji rolling on the floor with laughter. 5) how bout a Scuderia flag waving emoji. 6) emoji sleeping with zzzzzz's. 7) emoji drinking coffee/tea while reading the paper. just some suggestions off the top of my head.
Appendicitis is nasty. I know it all too well. His case seems to have been even worse and more dangerous. Glad he is back.

It all depends at what stage you have the appendectomy. In my case they didn't wait around but opened me up right away after arrival (got it in Sicily, had to get transported home first). In Albon's case they were even a bit too late and he stopped breathing on the operation table. So no wonder his recovery period takes longer. In my case it was a couple of weeks and I still had diet issues for weeks and months.
