Looks like Monterey county but I grew up there and there are no roads that have no services for 82 miles. Also looks like a road in north east San Diego county but I can’t think of the road.
the greatest unknown and unpatrolled hwy in Ca. hint.- built after WW2 as an oil pipeline service road from Avila Beach to Bakersfield epic drive.
Big Sur scenic Drive is also nice. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ooooh.... I do love the 33 through Ojai. My annual trip to Ojai got disrputed by covid and now its back on next spring. Very excited to carve out some time for this drive.
CA 20 from Fort Bragg to CA 101, have lunch turn around and do it the other way. Have dinner at Little River Inn, sit at bar for the sunset. Image Unavailable, Please Login
58? One of my favorite roads, but it is more of a bike road is the 229 which right of the 58 about 5 miles east of the 101. 229 is also known as Rossi's driveway.
Palms to Pines Scenic Byway. From the OC on Ortega Highway Route 74 to Palm desert and back through Alpine Village. Definitely a summer run, about 250 miles roundtrip, did it once on my Motorcycle and once in a car. Maybe not bucket list, but lots of switchbacks, rolling highway straights, lots of elevation changes. Some people take a weekend and stay in Palm Springs Area. MB
This, although I like the 74-371-79 back route between Palm Desert and San Diego (live in Indian Wells now...) The views on the 74 are outstanding; the road is in great shape; and you go from desert to mountains and end in Temecula where the wineries are abundant.
That is Route 58 East bound from Santa Margarita. It is my favorite road in the world. Please don't tell anyone about it. Cheers
Jolon Road at King City just off 101 south, going through Fort Hunter Liggett (southern Monterey County) is a fantastic road.
