Available , this 1968 series 1.5 Jaguar XKE.
This car recently completed a no expense spared body off rotisserie restoration.
Every single nut, clamp and bolt has been replaced, Every other item in entire car is either new , reconditioned, or replaced and as originally delivered from factory. Floors and rocker panels are replaced new.
Earlier this month at a Jaguar Club of North America sanctioned concours event, This car scored an official 99.75 point score as well as best in class 1st place. Staying True to the original meaning of unaltered Concours condition, the car is hard to fault.
The Engine is as new rebuilt, Interior has complete new connolly leather installed. new dash topper and leatherette facia. The underside of the car is as clean as the topside, more pics coming shortly.
New glass front and sides, new top and restored convertible frame, New wheels with 2 sets of new spinners.
All chrome is as new , A Complete digital catalog of restoration by prominent shop in northeast is available.
The mission was to make this car exactly the way the factory finished it, right down to the dunlop 185 tires.
The series 1.5 is very unique to the big picture as it was a transition car and is currently as new.
The paint is extremely high quality period correct with 3 coats hand sanded solid black glasurit and 3 coats of hand sanded clear.
This restoration came in at a cost of $200,000.00 which is average for this type of restore and the original car with 50,000 miles was in excess of $ 80,000.00
Essentially , you would be paying for a thorough restoration and the car was at no cost.
The car is a masterpiece inside and out, and guaranteed a 1st place position at any Jaguar show.
I purchased this car earlier this year and want to trade up to another car shortly.
Total odometer mileage right now is 50,500 with 400 local miles since restoration

This Beautiful 68' is located in East Hampton NY. and is for sale at this time for $199,000.00

Beautiful restoration. I sold my 1969 XKE 40 years ago for $4,500. :(

I was confused for a moment regarding the two Stromberg carburetors on your car. I thought that all of them had triple SUs like mine but it was a mixed bag in 1968 and 1969 with US emissions laws. Europe based cars kept the triple SUs and the US got smog and detuned with the Strombergs.

Yes, and "rocker" switches vs toggle, and, open vs covered headlamps, except a few late '67's were uncovered (but w triple SUs and toggles). A few other bits are different as well.

To the OP, beautiful car, GLWS. Just curious, if you are open to share, why selling?

It takes a brave man to do a car in black. Looks like they nailed it. Just lovely.
Curious - Was car originally black from factory?

I love it. I am prob too tall to fit sadly. Showing your ad to my friend who collects Jags.

Quick question - Was car same colors (ext/int) from factory? (Is there a factory build sheet)?
