what are the pros and cons of installing PPF on a windshield? the installer mention the possibility of interferring with a automatic rain sensors. anyone have first hand experience?
Hello, I have a protective film on the windscreen of my ‘15 458 Italia. It has sustained several *substantial* impacts in the last 2.75 years from stones without damaging the windscreen glass. It also takes the barrage of sand/grit impacts and has held up extremely well thus far. I would not drive without it… I have no problem with the wiper functionality, or the rain sensor functionality. Cheers!
I have a lot of clients that love it Only drawback I have personally noticed was slight distortion just off my field of view. So minor that I’d probably get used to it long term. Some products even cover your deductible if the glass were to break. S
Exoshield on my ‘22 F8. No distortion to my view, love the added protection. Highway driving is less nerve racking. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have clearplex. During the day it’s great, however, at night lights appear noticeably distorted. With that said I would get it again.
I’ve used several. The new stek one is pretty good. They all distort light a lot at night and all will scratch if you use wipers. But for $500 replacement it’s much better than chips imo.
Clearplex has distortion Stek is the latest technology and I have it installed. You will always have a little distortion, but much much less than Clearplex. I love not worrying about a 6k windshield replacement!
Stek is...was a great film. The installation was tricky to get right so that there was no or extremely little distortion. They discontinued the film due to manufacturing errors and feedback from installers/users that had the film on their cars for 6+ months. Hopefully they come back out with a newer, better film in the near future.
