How so. You sound like a fan boy.
Motor trend has the c8 at “A visit to the dragstrip resulted in 0-60 mph and quarter-mile times of 3.3 seconds and 11.5 seconds. ”.
Great performance for the dollar. But it is what it is.

Motor Trend is not the final authority. The guys that drive these regularly see under 3 seconds 0-60. It is what it is. Faster!

The guys getting sub 3 times usually aren't driving the base model. The Artura will get faster with new variants, just like the ZR1 will be faster

There is only one model of the C8. It IS the base model. Not to mention that the Arturo will be 3X as expensive!

Not true, there are various trim levels with different weights and aero changes

In terms of the power train, engine and transmission its the same basically on all models. 5 hp more with the performance exhaust. The different trim levels don't change the weight significantly. Talking about the Coupe which is lighter than the convertible. Still 3X cheaper than an Arturo with much less depreciation risk overall than McLaren. When the Z06 comes out it will annihilate the Arturo and still be at least 2X cheaper. Will give the 720S a run also. The C8 Corvette is a game changer for the exotic sport car world. Obviously your not up to date on this.

I'm up to date with it, I'm a corvette guy, I own a ZR-1. You're comparing a V6 hybrid entry level McLaren to Chevy's top dog. Corvette isn't a game changer, it's just a new standard. They finally caught up... and it's still ugly. Artura is worth the price difference simply because it looks better and is far more rare

Love watching pigs wrestling in the mud. So just enjoy your 'vette' and stop bashing McLaren's. See you at the track!

Sounds like we're talking about the C8 Vette that was widely touted by GM execs to be priced starting "under $60k". Only trouble is, try and find one, anywhere, base model, for less than $100k. When the higher-performance variants become 'available', their street prices will be substantially higher. So it's not quite accurate to say that the C8 is '3X cheaper' than the Artura. Probably closer to roughly 1/2 the street price, and even that is getting to be a stretch. For the record I'm a 'fan boy' of both Vette and McLarens, and also own a ZR-1. I also happen to be in the camp that thinks the C8 design is a stinker, but I suspect it will evolve over time. But Chevy should really stop making ludicrous claims about pricing...

OK, not here to take either absurd side of a typical internet ignorance competition. You are welcome to carry on but I want to be clear that my post is informational and non judgmental.

I just go a C8 coupe, still not past break in but I will share what I have learned and use my 2008 Boxster S RS60 as a comparison where necessary.
First all 20020/2021 C8s are 495 or 500 HP. Mine listed and I payed $82,925. This Includes 3LT upgrade (about 10K), Z51 suspension upgrade (about 6K), From Lift w/GPS memory (about 2K), Magnetic Ride (about 2K), paint and mirror finish upgrade (about 1.1K), and destination (about 1.1K). You can I could have ordered a 65K car but I would not recommend passing on the Z51 as the E-Diff alone is worth the price.

It is about 500 pounds heavier than the RS60 and has 200 more horsepower. The NA Porsche sound is like a fine watch and can scream at high
RPM. The NA V8 in C8 is explosive and sounds that way. Weight Dry C8: 3,366 lb, Boxster S: 2987 lb. I believe the msrp on the Boxster S 12 years ago was about the same as the C8, it is still worth about 30K on the used market.

RS60 feels much more open with the top up. It is definitely not as screwed down as the C8, more body lean but still a lovely ride, it still feels high quality and the manual is great to have. The C8 feels much more solid and the electronics are superb (12 years of development are entirely evident). The C8 even during break-in gets better milage in town than the RS60.

Back to the C8 engine (still less than 500 miles so limited to 4500RPM): explosive response with an aggressive growl. A wonderful car at a tiny price.

The C8 will not age the way the RS60 has (people at the gas station complement it often and are mystified when I reveal year).

So I think the Arturo is a compelling new ride. And for the price of the options on an F8 you can also buy a C8.

Finally the seat of my pants tells me that GMs acceleration and ¼ mile numbers are closer to the truth than Motor Trends.

So, 3 sec to 60 is too slow for you? I guess I missed you racing in IMSA, ALMS, F1 last weekend.

Vette? Seriously? Good bang for the buck, but a hodge podge design. It will be a great track car in a few years when they depreciate.

Like McLarens - owned a 570 and 600LT, warming up to Artura, pull for them in F1, dream car is probably a Senna.

The C8 launch is incredible, especially given weight and HP. Took mine on One Lap of America when I still wasn’t comfortable (heaviest car I have ever had on track). It finished mid 20’s out of 60-70 cars at every track (none of which I had ever been on). If I had had any time on these tracks (most did and there were some hired pros too), and I did it now with more comfort in car characteristics - would have been top 20 at every track.

And, it cost me next to nothing to track it, Chevy pricing on parts/labor. After One Lap -5000 miles, 6 tracks, 7 days- oil change and new tires, about $1500 (still had plenty of tread, but I don’t like the PS4s). One day on track in 600 LT was something like $8K.

Hate the C8 because it’s heavy, or a Chevy, or not aesthetically pleasing or whatever. But there is no BS in the performance; it is one hell of a car (not even my cup of tea, generally prefer Lotus/McLaren for light weight and handling). Z06 will be ludicrous at the price point. Hammer curbs all day, low stress of costs, pretty good deal.

I didn't realize the C8 was so heavy, I guess that's why they are going with the smaller displacement new v8 in the Z06, which by the way is mimicking the flat plane V8s of Ferrari and McLaren
