I recently purchased a 95 355 spyder and the ABS light has been coming in and off while I'm driving it. Is there any known connection issues?

The next time it happens, you need to pull over quickly somewhere and read the ABS code before it goes away. Then you will know why it is on. My 355 ABS light occasionally comes on and off and I just generally ... ignore it until it comes on all the time.

The early 355 with the Teves ABS system can be troublesome to diagnose. It's integrated into the brake master cylinder using a pump to supply boost pressure unlike conventional braking systems. Your flashing ABS light could be anything from a wheel speed sensor failing to the ABS pump not building pressure properly or the control module for the system starting to fail. I would start with the easiest first by checking the wheel sensors to make sure they are all clean, putting out a good consistent signal and their wiring and connectors are in good condition. Also check the wiring connections at the ABS control module and pump. If they all check out fine and the light continues to intermittently flash, I agree that the next course of action is to wait until the light comes on and stays on so you can work on it with the failure there all the time. When the light comes on, do you still have normal braking or does it require more foot pressure?

Thanks for the great info!! Braking still feels normal. Any idea how to access the abs module and pump?

They are both accessed by removing the front trunk liner that is just forward of the base of the windshield and has the cabin air intake hole in it. The liner spans the entire width of the trunk and the pump is located under it just behind the fuse box and in front of the brake master cylinder on the left side (drivers side US cars) and the module is on the right side next to the cluster of relays.
That the brake pedal pressure feels normal with the light on means the pump is still running correctly and making good pressure so that is unlikely to be the problem.

You might want to start by reading the DTCs.

You might find this video series some help. It is my 348, but I believe it's the same system in the 355

I’m having an issue on my 456GT, which seems to have a similar system. My abs light comes on intermittently. Comes on a while into most drives and then stays on until I shut down and restart. No apparent fuse issues or pump issues. I’m thinking wheel speed sensor. Other thoughts?

It's probably best to ask about it on the 456/550/575 forum, but basically, the 456GT/GTA Workshop Manual says that the ABS ECU has a diagnostic plug. If you short out pins A & B on the plug, the ABS system will do a self diagnosis and illuminate the ABS brake light in a series of flashes. These flashes should tell you which part of the system is broken.

Do you have the WSM for the 456GT?

Try checking the brake fluid level this can cause this ABS fault.
